A consistently and shockingly bad experience.
I recently moved into the area and switched to this pharmacy. The reviews aren't great, but hey that's kind of all major pharmacies, right? If you don't feel like reading further, just understand that no, this is an exceptionally bad pharmacy and I am confident that anywhere I switch to will be substantially better.
I began filling a critical prescription at the Fred Meyer pharmacy on 3333 W 11th three months ago. Since starting, not a single month has passed without issue.
The first month, the prescription was delayed by a couple days. Oh well, things happen.
The second month, my doctor increased the dosage of my prescription with some specific directions on the new dosage. The pharmacist, by her own admission, saw these changes, didn't fully understand them, so she just... deleted the refill request. She didn't attempt to contact my provider, she didn't alert me, she just deleted the prescription. This caused some confusion, obviously. At first I assumed I must have made a mistake, so I requested the refill again. Within an hour it was removed without word once again. I contact my doctor, who reaches out to the pharmacy for clarification but is put on indefinite hold. I find a similar issue. Maybe they're just busy, it happens. I go down in person and ask to speak with the pharmacist, who admits openly to having deleted the request because it needed clarification, and having not attempted to contact my provider as she is (and I can't stress this enough) required to do. We are several days past my refill date, I am in withdrawals, very unpleasant, and it is the weekend. I send the wording to my provider's office, I go through the weekend withdrawals, and we finally (more than a week late) get the prescription sent back in. It is still filled late, but hey at least it's over right?
The third month, this month, I notice the day that my prescription is due that I haven't gotten an alert about my refill. Prudently, I've been *rationing my medication* in preparation for something to go wrong, love that. I check the portal, the prescription is not there. I call, they say it's in their system, I check again, yay it's now there. I put in the refill request (it is now Saturday, 10/18) where it sits "in progress" all day. I check back on Sunday, ope it's gone. I call Monday, very frustrated because the medication that I rationed is now running low, and they basically say, "Whoops." I put in the request again to be filled that day, where it sits "in progress" all day. Screw it, I'll pick it up in the morning. I check today, Tuesday the 21st. It now says it will be ready by Friday, the 24th. I call again at 10am, they say, "Whoops, sorry. It's in stock. We'll put a rush on that and text you in two hours." I wait five hours, because I'm at work. I call again at 3:30pm. "Whoops, sorry. We'll put a rush on that and text you in 30 minutes. Folks, when I tell you it has been an 1 and 1/2 hours since that call with no update, I hope you understand how I feel. The portal still shows that the prescription is "in progress" and will be ready Friday, the 24th.
Folks, do not go here. Being forced into withdrawals three months in a row is absolutely unacceptable. Even saving up a WEEK's worth of medication isn't enough, because they either don't care or are just that incompetent. I'm sorry to the people who are working hard here, I don't know what to tell you.
