I found UCC through my insurance provider and looked for practitioners that were accepting new patients. I filled out the intake forms at UCC with a specific practitioner in mind, but was open to other practitioners as well. As soon as I submitted the paperwork that I had Binge Eating Disorder (BED), they left me a message stating they "couldn't meet my needs" for eating disorder/disordered eating support. Although 7 of their practitioners were listed as accepting new patients and working in eating disorders, not one wanted to work with me after finding out I have BED. A frustrating, dismissive experience with no other reason given as to why.

My therapist is great. If I’m ever having a particular bad time my therapist a lot of the time will try to schedule me for an earlier appointment, usually he can’t but he always try’s when I want one so that’s really nice, I’ve been going to therapy for 9 years I’ve never had a place so willing to do that before. Their website and portal are easy to use, I love the portal cause you can message your therapist through their really easily and it’s really convenient and my therapist always responds pretty quickly too. All in all I’ve been going there for over a year now and I’ve had pretty good experiences with them.

You know, for a place that is supposed to promote mental health, they really cause a lot of unnecessary stress. They are really hard to contact and are very disorganized. It took me several tries to even just get an appointment set up. Their billing and office and providers do not communicate with each other. I communicated a change in insurance and they acted like everything was fine, then gave me a huge bill as way of telling me I was no longer covered. For your own mental health, you should seek services elsewhere.
Awful experience. I used the form on the website to initiate the communication and try to set up an appointment. I never received a reply from them. I called in person to set up an appointment and was told they would check on availability and "you will hear back from me yes or no." It's been 1 week and I still have not received a response.
As a potential new patient in 2020, I understand counseling is in an elevated demand; however, not giving a response is highly unethical. While I cannot comment on the quality of care, I advise seeking other options.
