They fit us in quickly when no one else would. After spending countless hours on the phone and driving around Salem to get help, GD Albany saw us and scheduled surgery the very next day. We were treated with kindness, compassion, and even humor. The oral surgeon was magnificent, and every single staff member, from reception to dental assistants went above and beyond. I really can’t say enough about this place. Thank you, Gentle Dental Albany. Thank you so much. My daughter has her quality of life back and isn’t in pain anymore.

I had major work done on my mouth, and all went well considering. The staff and oral surgeon were completely professional, yet they also had a personal, humane approach for pain management and aftercare. The procedure went very quick, and I felt very little discomfort. Gentle Dental has my recommendation for any major dental work you should need.

I'll start by saying Dr. Van De Graff is fantastic. He's done multiple friends wisdom teeth removal surgeries including mine and now my husband's and everything from the consult and explaining the risks to the after care questions and concerns, he's been great. But this isn't about him. My husband hasn't had any surgeries since he was 13 and has some pretty complex anxiety and phobias. The assistant, Michaela, she was absolutely phenomenal! She was able to read him and what he needed from her to keep this appointment as comfortable for him as possible. She was kind, quirky and funny but also very professional and educated in what she was doing and what was going to be done. That girl deserves some recognition!! 🤘🖤 #someonebuyheracoffee

(Writing this review for a friend who does not have a google account to write his own review) I’m extremely disappointed with how Gentle Dental handled my situation. I spent 2.5 days in the hospital with an abscessed tooth, and the hospital wouldn’t discharge me until I had an appointment scheduled to get it pulled. I called Gentle Dental in Albany (my regular office) and was told they couldn’t get me in for SIX MONTHS for an extraction — which is unacceptable for an active infection and a medical discharge requirement. Out of desperation, I called Gentle Dental in West Salem, and they were able to see me the very next day. Then, a month and a half later, the Albany office called me just to tell me that because I went to the West Salem location, they were no longer going to have me as a patient. The person on the phone actually said, “Good luck in West Salem,” and then hung up on me. So to recap: Albany couldn’t help me during a medical emergency, but later had time to call and dismiss me as a patient — and did it in an incredibly unprofessional way. This is not how healthcare should operate, and it’s not how you treat people who are dealing with serious pain and infection. - Justin Hernandez

First off, let me start by saying I tremendously appreciate Dr. Van De Graaff pulling my septic tooth when I was getting to a dire point. He was capable of saving my life at least. I want you guys to be aware that I am transgender, and am between doctors and dentists. I was abused last summer at our local gentle dental and will not go back to the “dentist” who saw me. Dentistry is my least tolerable health requirement. I get tremendous anxiety dealing with dental treatment awake and facilities in general. Everyone assumes that I have established care but reality is I do not, and most dental clinics are booked out for months. I need a place that can help with anxiety and help build trust with me regarding regular dental cleanings. That being said, I find that my visits with your surgeon are a little on the awkward side. I am also an intellect, and naturally medically trained as a transgender individual, so I can get excited when discussing medical subjects depending on what it’s regarding. Your surgeon gets overwhelmed easily. I am dealing with tremendous pressure in my head and neck as well as a fog. I have never seen a highly paid professional shut down stare at the floor and get awkwardly quiet. And then continue to sit there staring at the floor rudely well past when I’m being quiet. Yes I took a little offense to that. To me I took that as, “ you have to tolerate my behavior but I don’t have to tolerate your behavior”. I mean no disrespect, your surgeon strikes me as on the spectrum. Anyway I didn’t mean to be difficult by being extremely agreeable and talkative. Where I come from being talkative is a sign of politeness and intelligence. I am not the type of person who is just overly obedient and stupid. I don’t know what your surgeon expects from people but that may strike others as weird or odd. Anyway, thanks again for the help. :/
