  Lee, my wife has Alzheimer's and lives in the Memory Living Unit of a retirement facility. During a 4 week period recently when I was recovering from surgery and could not provide daily care to my wife, I utilized personal care workers from Home Instead. Sanju was very capable in all aspects of caring for my wife: dressing, changing diapers, feeding, responding promptly to any problem. She was very patient when feeding Lee, a necessary attitude as Lee could be very obstinate at meals and be slow or refuse to open her mouth. She succeeded in having Lee eat well. Sandju was warm, friendly, compassionate way so that Lee in spite of her severe memory issues quickly became familiar with Sanju and remembered from one day to the next. Sandhu was also quite concerned with my problem with the surgical wound on my leg which hampered my mobility. Whenever we were in my apartment, she would insist on washing any dirty dishes and in picking some of my mess. Sabina was also very capable in all aspects of caring for Lee. She was very patient and compassionate in all her interactions with Lee.. In spite of Lee's lack of any short term memory, she quickly became very familiar with Sabina and remembered her from one day to the next. Indeed, even after Sabina stopped providing care for her, Lee recognized her voice whenever Sabina stopped to say hello. In feeding Lee, always somewhat difficult because Lee could be very obstinate and refuse to open her mouth, Sabina was very patient and succeeded in having Lee eat well. I had no hesitation in leaving Lee in Sabina’s care because I quickly learned that Lee was in very good hands.

  My experience with Home Instead began when their resident nurse made a house call and assessed my needs and condition. Once we were underway, the care proceeded like clockwork. Care givers Eliza, Carla and Casandra were kind, each with a special pleasant personality, all reliably experienced. Anna San Pedro, the RN was able get in touch with my surgeon when a problem arose. It is very comforting to know one can have such high quality care.

  When my mother needed to return to her retirement residence from the hospital after a bad fall the Home Instead team quickly mobilized to provide 24/7 care and then waited patiently until the hospital discharged her. Home Instead flexibility, professionalism and kindness during those difficult times was 5 star. When my mom didn’t need as much care as she recovered Home Instead continued to adapt their staff to her needs. For me, close to caregiver burnout, knowing the team at Home Instead were there for not only my mom but also for me helped me overcome a truly dark period of my life. When friends ask I always recommend Home Instead for their parents as well as for themselves.

  Home Instead has been taking care of my mother with dementia, and they have been absolutely incredible!! Their whole team is supportive, professional, and genuinely caring. Anna, Dawane, and Subarna have been especially amazing — always patient, compassionate, and dedicated to providing exceptional care. Communication is excellent, scheduling is smooth, and they are very respectful to all. Their kindness and commitment have made a real difference for our family. We’re so grateful for everything they do and highly recommend Home Instead!
