Excellent service from start to finish. The doctor was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to explain my eye exam clearly. The staff was welcoming and helpful, and I never felt rushed. Overall a very smooth and pleasant experience. I would highly recommend this location.

I came here after confirming with head office that LensCrafters do indeed take OW insurance customers. Upon arriving at 5pm yesterday I was greeted by a very friendly young man who showed me the glasses I wanted to purchase and then passed me to Esther who was also very nice. However a very bad attitude older woman with glasses spoke very rudely to me and told me that they don't help poor people on OW, gave me a dirty look and then went straight to the back after refusing to giving me a name although an employee later told me her name was 'MARJAN'. She clearly lied and I confirmed that as, I went online and was able to order the same glasses with my OW insurance and choose the pick up in store option. The ASM was helpful but then again would not accept responsibility for his employee denying a paying customer's business because of her political views of people on the OW program. Although the ASM was calm, he was more concerned that I wanted to escalate the situation to his upper management than actually acknowledging that they could and should have handled the situation better. Luckily I was recording everything and I am escalating this to the furthest extent from upper managment to media. No employee should communicate in such a horrible manner with a paying customer even if they are less fortunate. AVOID this location and especially the older employee here, Marjan.

I have been a LensCrafters customer since 2010, and my entire family has purchased glasses from this brand without problem, but recent 2-3 years, this brand has changed a lot. I purchased a rimless house-brand frame costing over CAD $1,000 a yearly before. At no point during the sale was I informed that this frame was fragile or prone to loosening screws. I only learned this after repeatedly returning for adjustments. The temple screws would loosen within weeks, and the nose pads consistently caused pressure and discomfort. Over the past year, I visited multiple locations for this glasses, including Fairview Mall and Scarborough Town Centre, I received contradictory information. FairviewMall location told me they did not have the proper tools to tighten the screws and sent me to another mall farther away, while another location later stated that they did have the necessary tools to fix it. This back-and-forth was extremely frustrating and made me feel passed around rather than helped. Today, after several months without using it due to loose screws and painful nose pads, I finally had time to visit the Scarborough Town Centre location again. After several attempts by a technician, my glasses were passed to a senior female technician for further adjustment. After two attempts, the fit improved but still caused pressure on one side of my nose. When I clearly stated that I was still uncomfortable and that this issue had been ongoing for over a year, this senior female technician responded in a commanding and dismissive tone. She told me to “take out your iPhone” (I do not own an iPhone), which left me confused and uncomfortable. It seemed she was trying to prove that the glasses fit properly instead of listening to how they actually felt on my face. I explained that there was a mirror beside me and that I could check the fit with the mirror. At that moment, I felt insulted and bullied. Realizing that she had no patience with my situation, I requested one final adjustment and said okay. She simply handed my glasses back to me without cleaning my lenses. The lenses were covered in visible fingerprints and dirty. I had to drive home with my vision blurred by fingerprints the entire way. This is not the first time I have experienced similar customer service issues in recent years, including the Fairview Mall location. Their staff did not used to be like this. After COVID-19, they underwent renovations, replaced much of their staff, and completely changed their service style.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
