I recently had a very frustrating experience at the Pickering LensCrafters. I ordered my glasses in-store at the Yorkdale location on February 4th, and was told they would ship to Pickering but might take a few extra days. By February 12th, my glasses were ready for pickup at Yorkdale, so I gave it some time to be shipped. However, by February 20th, I still hadn’t received a call from Pickering, so I decided to call them.
When I called on February 20th at 5:27 PM, the lady who answered the phone sounded annoyed. After reluctantly taking my name, she told me she couldn’t find my file. I offered my order number and phone number, but she still couldn’t find my file or give me any information. She then told me I would have to contact Yorkdale for updates, giving me a vague response that my glasses might arrive later that day.
I then called Yorkdale, and they found my file right away. I was told my glasses had been shipped on February 17th and were delivered to Pickering on February 18th at 1:15 PM. I called Pickering again, and the same lady answered. She asked me to spell my name, but in the middle of spelling it, she put me on hold. When she returned, she asked what brand of glasses I had ordered, then finally found my glasses and said, “Yeah, your glasses are here,” with no apology or explanation. When I asked to confirm that they had been there for some time, she just said, “Yes, you can pick it up” and abruptly hung up.
The whole process felt disorganized, and I was worried my glasses might be lost. However, when I went to pick up the glasses, the optician who adjusted them for me when was kind and thorough. Despite that positive interaction, I would not return to this location.

Amazing experience! Chetan was very helpful the moment I walked in. He knew the history of the company well. He was knowledgeable about the glasses I wanted. He sat with me and provided me with options. He was efficient in his work and friendly.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this location. My kids have been wearing glasses since they were 5 and 7, needless to say we've had our fair share of repairs, losses and just straight up wanting new glasses. Every interaction we've had with LensCrafters has been incredible, and every time we've needed to repair anyone's glasses they have been free of charge and always in the quickest of times! The people here, are the absolute best, especially Felicia! Thanks again!
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
