She provided me with clear information and gave me appropriate advice to help me make the best decision. Without a doubt, a high-quality service.

Extremely Disappointed I am leaving one star because there is no option for zero. I called this clinic to clarify vision coverage for my mother, who receives Ontario Works. During the call, Tara — who identified herself as the owner — told me that Ontario Works and OHIP are the same thing. They are not. OHIP covers certain medical eye exams (such as diabetic exams). Ontario Works covers vision benefits like glasses for eligible recipients. These are separate provincial programs. Instead of answering my questions respectfully, I was met with a dismissive tone and attitude. I was simply trying to understand coverage for my mother. No one should feel spoken down to for asking about government benefits. It was especially disappointing to learn that this response came from the owner. Professionalism and accurate information should start at the top. I hope this clinic takes patient communication more seriously moving forward. Update: In response to the owner’s comment, I would like to clarify that the store has not been in touch with me. I initiated contact myself and did not receive clarification or follow-up. I have now submitted a formal complaint through Specsavers’ customer service form (Ticket #RCC1224536) and am awaiting a proper response.

I am really disappointed to have to post a negative review for this store. My experience with the staff was excellent and I don’t want to disparage them. However, I booked an eye exam with the explicit purpose of having my prescription for contacts adjusted from multifocal contacts to mono vision in order to purchase colored contacts online. I made this point repeatedly to the staff and emphasized that was my only reason for being there. The optician checked my eyes, and the staff proceeded to match the brand of colored contacts I intended to order to their sample contacts online hand so that they could provide me with the correct adjustment for my needs. They provided me with a sample to try for fit, and I was very satisfied with the adjustment and comfort. I paid for the exam and the printed prescription and left pleased that I had accomplished my goal. When I received my online order, I discovered that while I could see with them for distance, I was unable to read with them. I was confused as my sample lenses were perfect. At first I tried a second pair in a different color thinking perhaps there was a manufacturer defect. But there was no improvement. This however voided the ability to return four of six boxes of contacts. Contacting the online supplier, they requested a copy of the prescription. When they received it they pointed out I had been given the prescription for spectacles NOT contacts as explicitly requested. I contacted the store and explained the situation and they attempted three times to email me the correct prescription, but each time I received only a blank letterhead without the prescription information. When I spoke to the optometrist he denied that there was a prescription for contacts, as this must be fitted in store… I then asked him to explain how mail order contact lens companies are able to function? I am out almost $400 with a useless prescription for glasses I did not ask for, and six boxes of colored contacts I need, but with which I can not read. I am on a limited income and I can not afford to waste $400. So I am left in a financially precarious position, unable to wear my contacts and unable to have them replaced because my specific instructions were ignored despite repeated explanations. Sadly, Specsavers are unwilling to make this situation right, and the lens reseller refuses to replace the lenses as the supplied prescription was incorrect. As usual, I’m left holding the bag with both corporate entities smugly refusing to correct the situation, despite the fact that the cost per lens is pennies. A fact proven by the ability of optical shops handing out samples of lenses at no charge. Avoid Specsavers. You can’t depend on them to listen to your needs and if anything goes wrong, you’ll be out in the cold.
