Bano was a true gem. She helped me find the glasses I wanted, explained the differences between different types, and i didnt feel pressured at all. She explained things that other lens crafters didnt which i greatly appreciated. She was very likeable, knowledgeable and professional. I definitely recommend working with her for your glasses needs. Thank you Bano!

Let me start by saying that I had previously browsed (in a different store) and picked out frames I liked before this visit. When I walked into this store in Oshawa, I was quickly greeted and when I explained what I was interested in I was immediately shown the frames I wanted. There was no pressure, or attempt to sell me more than what I wanted. The entire process was quick and easy! The salesman looked up my past purchase history, saw the type of coverings and coatings I had on my lenses in past glasses, and we simply ordered the same. The entire experience couldn't have gone more smoothly and is exactly the type of experience I want. I feel very confident going back again. Well done.

***Changed the star rating to reflect their response to this negative review. It’s too bad it took this review to get action. I’ve had 2 incredibly negative and unhelpful experiences here but they fixed my son’s glasses and gave a couple gifts to apologize for this.*** **To clarify - this is with the storefront; experiences with the optometrist have been great! ** WARNING! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE! Incredibly disappointed, AGAIN. I’ve been bringing my son here for multiple years. The last 2 annual visits they’ve taken the money and then have no interest in dealing with any issues with their products (unlike everything they promise before they have your payment.) Last year the $350 glasses came seriously scratched right in the middle of the lense. My partner took a picture of the scratch inside the store right when we got them; they said they’d order replacement lenses and to come back in 10 days. When we went back they claimed my son didn’t have an account and said they couldn’t find it anywhere in the system. I thought the last experience might’ve been an honest mistake so we (stupidly) went back this year to buy my son new ($400) glasses. They said to wear them and come back if there’s any problems and they’d be happy to help, especially with the fit. (We purchased the warranty as well if that matters.) The glasses are too tight and leaving marks behind my son’s ears; so we went back yesterday to have someone adjust them. We spoke with the manager who told us that there was no technician in and to come back in 2 hours. So that’s what we did, we walked around the mall with our autistic son for 2 hours. When we went back the employee told us again there was no technician in. I explained to him that their manager told us to come back to speak with the technician in 2 hours and explained that my son is in pain from his glasses being too tight. He went and spoke with the same manager I had spoken to 2 hours before, she didn’t bother coming to speak with us herself; her employee came back and said there’s no technician. I asked when I could come in to speak with the technician as (again) this is hurting my son, leaving serious marks behind his ears. They said they didn’t know, and could not help me. He said to just “pop in” to see if he’s here. Another $400 + and no help and all. It seems they couldn’t care less about their customers as soon as they have your money. A special needs child is in pain and we needed help to fix that. They couldn’t even tell us when we could come in to fix this. Fortunately I recently bought a vehicle, but many people aren’t just able to “pop in” to see if a technician is available because they have to bus, and with a special needs child on top of that.. very disappointed in their customer service. I’m not sure if they were being discriminatory towards us but it truly felt like it. Added a photo of his ear currently and he hasn’t even worn the glasses since yesterday.

This store I’ve had two bad experiences with. The first time (last year) I got my son’s first set of glasses there and they came with a scratch/chip in the centre of one of the lenses. They told me they would order new ones and not to worry and we could come back and they would swap them. I called back 4 times over the time span of about a month and they constantly would tell me they can’t find my son’s name in the system and to call back later. I never ended up getting his glasses fixed because they kept trying to sweep it under the rug. Now I came in and got a new set of glasses last week, everything is fine except they were a little tight when he tried them on. The gentleman said it’s no problem and drop in any time of we need them adjusted (we also bought the warranty package) so we came in to have them adjusted. The manager lady said the tech isn’t here right now and come back in two hours so we hung around the mall for two hours. When we came back another gentleman said there is no tech at all today and when we asked when he just kept saying we don’t know when and just ‘drop in whenever you’re at the mall’. I bus 1.5 hours each way with my special needs son, it’s not convenient for us and he need glasses that don’t hurt his head. After they get our money they just don’t care and I feel like a sucker for trusting them. It’s not a one time event, it’s a pattern of bad aftercare. These glasses are for a special needs boy.

Very dissatisfied. I ordered my glasses on February 14th and I was called to pick it up on March 12th. I was able to pick it up two days later on March 14th. A whole month! That's way longer than the 2 weeks I was originally told it would take. I received the order and the wrong glasses were processed. Apparently, if the frame you ordered is out of stock, the lab would replace it with another one. I ordered black glasses and they chose a black and red pair, which I didn't like. I understand that things happen but, at least inform me about it! I didn't get a call to inform me that the glasses were out of stock. I now have to wait for the new pair I chose to be completed, which might take another 3-4 weeks. To make matters worse, my husband ordered a pair of the Meta Ray Ban glasses in cosmic blue on February 14th, the same day I ordered mine. He didn't have to wait as long as me, since his was completed in 3 weeks. HE ALSO RECEIVED THE WRONG COLOUR GLASSES. I have been a regular at the Lens Crafters location in Pickering since 2009 and never had a problem. NEVER AGAIN AT THIS LOCATION! Also, whoever replies to the 1 star reviews, it would make more sense to customize the response to the customer writing the review than cutting and pasting the same message from previous 1 star reviews. You're not going to win back customers like that.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
