I walked into the SpecSavers shop in the Real Canadian Superstore at 6th Line and Dundas in Oakville. I had with me a pair of RayBan sunglasses that I'd owned for at least ten years. The pads that sit on your nose had been bent all out of shape over time and had gotten to the point where the glasses sat quite crooked on my face. Lydia Joseph, who seemed like the manager, greeted me and asked how she could help. I showed her my glasses and asked her how much it would cost to straighten them out. She inspected them closely then said she could try to re-adjust them but with the state they were in, she cautioned me that they could break in the process. I gave her the ok to give it a try. After a few minutes she returned with my glasses - cleaned and re-aligned perfectly. She gave them to me to try on then took them back to make one last adjustment. I pulled out my wallet and asked her how much I owed and she said "no, no, no, you just come back when you need a new pair." You might not get served by Lydia but I would recommend this SpecSavers location to anyone who needs help with their current, or is looking for a new pair, of glasses. They're terrific!

This locations is actually inside the Real Canadian Superstore. It’s located directly after checkouts. Despite its location and there being plenty of space inside it, and me being the only person in the shop, their first words to me were “you aren’t allowed to have shopping carts inside the shop.” I had one of those tiny shopping carts for baskets and have limited mobility and was shopping alone.
