LensCrafters in Newmarket has an excellent variety of glasses including the Meta Ray Bans which other large retailers either did not stock, or had limited models of. The service and advice provided by their customer agent (Ali) was very professional. I also benefited from the current 50% promotion for prescription lenses. Looking forward to receiving my high tech sunglasses.

Great staff! I've been buying from this location for at least a decade. I had an incident with my glasses and the customer service rep had a new set ordered and dealt with in under 10mins. She saved me a trip without my glasses which was very much appreciated. Always helpful and knowledgeable at this location.

I had a fantastic experience at LensCrafters! I purchased both the frames and lenses, and everything from start to finish was smooth and stress-free. A huge shoutout to Annie, who was absolutely amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. She took the time to explain my options and made sure the lenses were exactly what I needed.
The service was professional, efficient, and welcoming. Highly recommend this location—especially if you get the chance to work with Annie! 👓✨

TLDR: Incorrect measurements, no email when glasses were ready, inconsistent return policy explanations, 6 store visits, two badly made pairs, and two months of frustration. I ended up returning everything and going elsewhere.
This is the first time I’ve ever written a bad review, but my experience has been beyond horrible.
I went to LensCrafters for the first time to get new glasses with a new prescription (only slightly different from my old one). The frames I chose were originally around $1000 before promotion. The optician who helped me was not attentive at all—kept talking to a coworker and rushed through all my measurements.
I was told I’d receive an email in about two weeks. I never got anything, so I called the store, and they told me “we emailed you four days ago.” I received nothing.
I picked up the glasses and gave them a few days to adjust, but they were extremely uncomfortable. Everything was blurry except for a tiny center point. I went to another LensCrafters to get them checked, waited 30 minutes, and no one helped me. I went to a third location, and after pushing a bit, they finally re-measured my height and PD. Their measurements were 4–5 units different from the first optician’s.
To confirm it wasn’t my prescription, I went back to the optometrist for another exam. It wasn’t the prescription. The optometrist immediately said the optical center of the lenses was way off.
I returned to the original location. Another optician helped me and admitted the first measurements were wrong. The glasses were also extremely loose, and they said the first person should have adjusted them but didn’t. They even had to dismount the lenses from the frame because they were done incorrectly. The glasses were falling off my face, and despite telling them multiple times, they didn’t fix it properly.
They exchanged the pair, and I picked up the new ones.
The new pair had the exact same issue. This time, the center felt too low. The lenses were incredibly uncomfortable even though they cost around $700 originally. The frames were loose yet again.
At that point, I decided to return everything and go elsewhere for lenses.
One associate previously told me I had 30 days from the pickup date to return them. But when I went in to confirm, they said the return policy counts from the original purchase date of the first pair, even though the second pair was completely new. This made no sense. If you give someone a new pair, the return window should start from the pickup date of the new one.
Since they never emailed me when the glasses were ready, my return window was reduced from a month to two weeks without me knowing. Their associates clearly aren’t trained properly, because they gave me conflicting information.
They eventually made an “exception” and counted the 30 days from the pickup date of the second pair—but honestly, that shouldn’t be an exception. That should be standard.
In total, I went to LensCrafters 6 times, and the entire process took two months.
Horrible experience. I’ve never had this happen at any optical store. I never write reviews, but this situation was unbelievably frustrating.
I’m sure others have had good experiences, and maybe something unusual happened in my case, but I wanted to share because I was very unsatisfied the quality and service I received.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
