I generally leave reviews in two situations, when service was exceptionally good, or conversely, exceptionally bad. My recent experience with the staff at LensCrafters Mapleview, was wonderful! I was able to take advantage of several promotions they were offering and ended up getting a pair of prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses for $300 less than what I had been quoted that very same day from another provider. We interacted with 3 staff members throughout our experience and all were super welcoming, provided their honest opinions and at no point did we feel pressured whatsoever. In fact, I was talked out of a more expensive lens option that I was told would provide no additional value. I was quoted 2-3 weeks for both pairs to be completed and they arrived in about 9 days. Pickup couldn’t be easier, they fitted the frames, made some minor adjustments, and off I went. The frames were perfect and the prescription spot on. A lot of eyeglass stores sell you the exact frame that’s on display, that everyone has tried on for who knows how long - but that’s not the case here, we were promised brand new frames and they delivered on that promise. I opted in for the $40 protection plan as I have a toddler and newborn and the plan offered peace of mind! One of the best things was that they applied my insurance on the spot! Which saved time and was super convenient. I only paid the portion outside of insurance that I owed. Will absolutely be back next time! Thank you Mapleview staff!

So I bought a pair of prescription glasses a few months back, thought they were great (paid well over $600). Recently, an online retailer (EyeBuyDirect) has a Black Friday sale on so I ordered a 'spare' set of glasses off them for $100. I just received the discounted ones in the mail (not even 1 week later) and I was floored that the optical quality (both progressive) blew the LensCrafters ones away (even though I opted for their most expensive option). I'll never go back, sorry. I totally feel like I got duped. I guess they have to pay for the franchise costs, high mall-rent and staffing.

I took advantage of their 30 day return policy. I brought back glasses I had purchased and exchanged for ones I like better. Quick and easy. Great customer service. Place to go for glasses. 😁

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
