  I worked for Home Instead in Tulsa, OK from 2014 to 2015, first as a caregiver and later in the office after returning from school. My time as a caregiver was incredibly meaningful to me. I developed a deep passion for working with senior citizens and truly valued being part of their daily lives and care. After returning to the office, I took on administrative responsibilities, including assisting with HR-related duties and organizing client records. I took pride in my work and worked hard to improve organization and efficiency, including reorganizing client files from A–Z to create a smoother workflow. My employment ended suddenly and without warning. I was told the reason for my termination was that a document had been placed in the wrong file. This explanation did not reflect the work I believed I had completed, and I was not given prior feedback, disciplinary action, or an opportunity to correct any issue before being terminated. During my time working in the office, I experienced workplace dynamics that made me feel uncomfortable and unsupported. I observed behavior among staff and leadership that, in my opinion, did not reflect professional workplace standards. At times, I personally felt that professional boundaries were not always respected, and I chose to remain focused on my job rather than participate in situations that made me uncomfortable. After distancing myself from workplace interactions that felt unprofessional, my termination occurred without warning, which left me feeling confused and unsupported. Following my termination, I also experienced difficulty receiving unemployment benefits and was denied compensation for my final two weeks. The way my employment ended had a lasting emotional impact on me and affected my confidence for many years. I am sharing this experience to encourage potential employees and families to carefully consider workplace culture, professionalism, and respect for boundaries when choosing where to work or seek care. I remain deeply passionate about caregiving and continue to value the importance of compassionate, respectful care for seniors.

  I truly enjoy working for Home Instead. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and supportive. The clients are amazing to serve at their home while still treating them with dignity of the many accomplishments that they achieved over the years in their field of work.   I love working for Home Instead because it offers very flexible hours, which helps me balance my responsibilities, especially as a parent. The staff genuinely care about your well-being and your children’s well-being. They provide excellent training and are always willing to help you learn things you may not know, whether it’s over the phone or through hands-on guidance. You also have the option to go into the office for additional support or training whenever you need it. Home Instead truly creates a supportive and caring work environment.
