- CFCory Franks3 days ago1.0My wife is a quadriplegic and requires a power wheelchair. Her previous one is old and beginning to fail. We went through NSM to replace it. In August we were quoted an October delivery time by Wade. It’s nearly mid-March (5 months overdue) and we cannot even get a call back from Cassandra. We are actually trying to pay our copay which wouldn’t have been as much had it been delivered on time or even 2 months late. So, 7 months from ordering, no chair, can’t get a callback, runaround every single time we do make contact. “Oh we filed that incorrectly, or oh, we had to order this part, or oh we forgot to file this with your secondary insurance.” Just absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had with any company. I try to let my wife handle it so she can have a sense of purpose and accomplishment- but all she gets is stress and frustration.

The manager was suppose to call me, they never did, they NEVER answer the phone… the worst place in the market… run from this place, their give a crap meter is broken and they don’t care about u as their customer…

That being said,National Seating & Mobility is the best, most fantastic place to go. Todd was so helpful and made me feel positive. I added up all the steps and levels thru the government it had to maneuver through and I didn’t think I would see the chair until March of 2026. However, today Dec 4, 2025 it arrived! Brandon the Technician brought it in and set everything up and before you now it I was out hitting the streets. All I can say is Thank You So Very Much !! I didn’t know what I was missing. Thanks again.

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
