Edit: In the future, please tell your patients that they need to see a different specialist if they need to see a different specialist. You only JUST told me to see a different doctor through your google response. When I was there, you didn't mention that. Thank you for your time, though.
I was hesitant to make a review, especially because I dont usually leave reviews and the girls at the front were very friendly, but I feel it is important to do so for people who genuinely want help rather than being told to take meds and shots. And maybe I am wrong in thinking this place is supposed to help with medical issues that lead to weight gain, but this place is called a clinic, and they say they specialize in helping others with weight, so I am unsure. If it is simply a place where you get perscribed medications, then that is my bad, but my assumption was that a doctor would help me figure out if I had an underlying issue, and I did not get that help. This is my experience, and hopefully it is not like this for others: I go in because I've gained 30 or so pounds within a year even though I haven't had any changes to my diet. The girls hand me a form with very basic info (nothing about family history, just my own, which is what I am there to learn about in the first place). I had gone in for a consultation with a doctor, but they lead me to a room where they immediately began pushing medication. I told them I was there to figure out if I may have some underlying issues that are developing, because some of my family members have thyroid issues and others have high cholesterol, and I wanted to naturally fix it first before turning to meds. Breast and ovarian cancer are also plausible, as women on both sides of my family all have had to deal with it, and I'd much rather figure out if I had an issue than trying to ignore it with meds and shots. In response, the girl says I should speak to the doctor (which is... what I was there for to begin with?) and when I ask how much copay will be, she hesitates before saying they do not accept insurance, but a consultation is free. She then leads me to said doctor. He briefly listens to my concerns, then asks if I'm in school, and when I say no, he immediately says I am stress eating because of school... which I am not attending. Then he says I should consider medications and skinny shots. I told him my eating habits and diet, being as honest as I could because he is a doctor and I want help. I told him I eat well (though I eat more cheese than I should) with plenty of chicken, veggies and fruits (I've been on a HUGE tomatoe kick recently lol) and that I eat one meal a day and some snacks in between. He didnt seem very interested in what I had to say and acted as if I was lying as he says I am overeating and eating fast food. When I press that I worry I may have underlying medical issues, he reluctantly says we can do some labs, but they do not accept insurance and it will be all out of pocket. If I wanted a blood test, it will be $300-400 to do. I immediately knew I would not be returning. I am polite regardless and listen, and when he's done speaking to me, he carelessly throws my file across the table at me, making me have to catch it before it falls off. The girls at the front waved me goodbye, and that is the last time I will ever return to that clinic. It's a shame, because I was really looking for help, and many people have high praises for this place. But sadly, my experience was not good. I have a consultation with a doctor next week, which is someone my mom sees for her issues. Hopefully, I will find out if there is something going on. I wish this place was helpful, but the doctor did not listen, and the fact that they wanted everything out of pocket and that the first thing they asked me is "have you ever considered taking weight loss medications?" was an immediate red flag. For those of you who have had great success with this place, I am so happy for you! But for those of you like me who want to see if there is an underlying issue, do not go here.
