Listen, I hate writing a bad review that can affect people's livelihoods, especially when the owners, outwardly, are nice people. Like I genuinely enjoyed speaking with both Mike and his wife.
Which is why I feel they're better than this behaviour.
My problem is with the pattern of behaviour displayed and commented on rhythmically on here as well as Yelp reviews.
They won't stop billing me and have been billing me well after they should have.
We moved away from Parma Heights, jumped through all of the hoops they asked (written notice, etc. which even that is a bit of a bridge too far and should have been a red flag. Why do I need to write an essay about why I don't feel I should have to continue giving my money to a service I no longer want and most importantly is longer being provided? No essays are needed, for example, Apple Music, Amazon Prime or any other monthly subscription, but OK...), they're still taking our money.
Is it possible it's an oversight? Potentially and I'll happily give that to them if it is.
BUT, I have contacted them via message on their App, no response, I called and when the owner knew it was a billing inquiry, she put the phone down while other customers were tended to and after 5 minutes, she was still chatting away with guests, knowing I was waiting with my billing issue. I hung up, called back 5 minutes later and utterly shocked that no one answered (I wasn't shocked at all). I left a message and have still not received any type of call back.
When we joined for a 4 monthish temporary membership, the owner Mike (again, who I like and when asked about the nuances of our membership), reassured, "No problem, it's a shorter membership I'll take care of you guys!" (Which, one could make the argument at that point that when we signed up, THAT was our notice but of course, it wouldn't be seen that way as it in no way benefits those walking away with money that isn't theirs)
You said you'd take care of us, Mike, Well where's that care now, Mike? The ridiculous part is, we are most likely going to move back to the area and they're willing to give up a future more permanent steady family membership for a few extra, illicit months.
Mike, just because you can, doesn't mean you should. I'd be ready to join the gym again because the gym serves its purpose.
But I won't unless this can be rectified, at which point, I'll happily update this review, because as it stands, it's just outright theft.
And on no level is that ok.
A final PS, my wife was continually hit on by a "meatball" who works out there and thinks it's OK to do so, even after she told meatball in question that she was married. Which again, NOT ok.
My wife then felt unsafe at the gym.
The owners said they would speak to the member in question but on no level was ever given any reassurance that it actually happened.
