Best service I have gotten since wearing glasses. I normally go to another company and tried LensCrafters for the first time and will continue to come back!

Visited the Monroe store on 09/26/25; assisted by "Laurin". This person did little in the way of ensuring that the purchasing experience was simple and seamless. However, this person did attempt to pressure me into overpaying for frames, lenses, and unnecessary protection plans. When questioned about the excessive charges, the response was "How much would you like to pay?". Having to negotiate the price of eyeglasses in inappropriate and is tantamount to age discrimination. Purchasing the glasses from this store was a mistake; I only proceeded with the purchase to utilize the insurance benefit before the end of the year. At the conclusion of the transaction, "Laurin" indicated that I would be notified by text when the eyeglasses were ready; my last words to her were to ensure that my phone number on account was correct. Two weeks post purchase, without any contact from this store, I made the effort to call. Was connected to "Stephanie"; glasses had been ready for days, and she verified that my contact information was incorrect. However, like "Laurin", "Stephanie" was very abrupt, and didn't seem interested in providing quality customer service. Readers of this review...shop around. Take your insurance money to a store that may actually want your business. I did provide feedback through e-mail, and my response appears to have been essentially ignored. On a positive note, I did receive an eye exam from Deborah Bereda (during a different visit), who is also affiliated with the Lenscrafters facility in Monroe, OH. Apart from being charged $39 for a "retinal exam", the visit was positive; Bereda listened to my needs, and provided a thorough exam. I would recommend specifically requesting her, and taking the hard copy prescription to another store for eyeglasses.

Excellent LensCrafters! Very friendly and professional staff! (Unlike Dayton Mall location) Worth the drive if you don’t live close.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
