Do not waste your time going here! My mother was instructed by her physician to go to an ER immediately to be FULLY evaluated and examined after she informed them she had passed out and hit her head, leaving her chin, under-chin, and part of her face black and blue from bruising. She does have several preexisting conditions and takes medications at this time, which is also why she was told to go to the ER and not wait for a doc appointment. She went into this location where they took bloodwork and did a chest X-ray, and determined her to be “dehydrated”, then looked no further. Even if she was, it still didn’t medically make sense to leave that as the only thing to address. When I asked to speak to someone (which I didn’t get to) to advocate that my mother’s head and neck should be examined to rule out a concussion, bleed, or even a possible hairline fracture bc of her pain, she informed me that they refused to do it! Saying “because you’re not over 65 or on blood thinners, we don’t believe it’s necessary to do any of that.” She’s not far from 65, but that’s beside the point because when did concussions and fractures begin to have to have an age and specific medication present to be relevant or true?? If someone at any age blacked out alone, fell to the ground, and smacked their head on God knows what, why would you NOT rule those things out? Why would you, at minimum, not go through a concussion protocol? Every case is different so you cannot treat them the same! We are humans, not machines. Things like this can literally mean life or death and they did not care to address it. She was put on an IV in her short time there and sent home within an hour or so with nothing but the advice of “follow up with your primary physician”. I am absolutely disappointed and disgusted in this department for the little effort and poor “medical judgment”, especially because they knew I wanted to advocate and ask a few questions on her behalf , being that I’m an hour away. And as stated, no one spoke to me as she asked them to. This type of treatment is NOT okay.
