Jason is the consummate professional he was patient and kind and to the chagrin of his kids, funny. He helped my mom and us understand the ins and out of her new chair. The time he spent was really appreciated. Thank you Jason for everything you have done prior to and while delivering my mother’s power chair. Your company is lucky to have you as a valued employee

My salesman, Rick Petersen, was great! He took all the time needed to fully explain the use of the chair and customized it for my needs. It was quick turn around with my insurance...an easy process. Gorgeous chair and very comfortable!

Brittney schedules all of my repair appointments for my power chair efficiently and is always very polite and cheerful making me feel at ease and reassuring me that my chair will be fixed promptly. Bill martin is a savant pertaining to all power chair and other machine operated devices when it comes to faulty and defective equipment he never leaves without it being repaired or documented for proper classification of parts needed for the repair. I also appreciate Jason who initiated the need and setup of my new power chair he also reassured me that despite my disabilities I would be able to take advantage of the multiple operations that the chair has to make my life much easier .
My overall experience with national seating and mobility would be a A+ keep up the good and needed work!

Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
