I’m a 17 year old and I come here most days. The staff is always so kind and welcoming and very easy to talk to. There’s a wide variety of equipment and everything is kept clean and organized. Love it here!

Love all the great equipment and the atmosphere in there. Good people, great ownership and a great place to get a pump at. You won't leave without breaking a sweat and get a great workout at. Also they have some decent pricing on memberships.

I have been a long-term member of Metro Fitness, and while I appreciate the community and services, there are several issues that need attention.
Rule Enforcement: Rules such as “wear shoes at all times” are inconsistently enforced. Members frequently place bare feet on benches, equipment, and floors, which is a hygiene concern. New rules, like “stay home if sick,” seem selectively applied, creating confusion and frustration.
Staff Engagement: Front desk staff are often distracted or unsure of their responsibilities. For example, trash cans on the gym floor have gone unemptied because employees say it’s “not my job,” highlighting unclear role definitions and lack of accountability. Historically, staff actively maintained the gym and assisted members, which is no longer consistent.
Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Many pieces of equipment are broken or out of service, including multiple treadmills. Two new treadmills were purchased, but one is already down for repair and both are lower-grade units. Ceiling fans and air conditioning units are partially nonfunctional, and the fitness room has substandard flooring and design. Spending on cameras and nonessential lounge areas has not addressed these basic facility needs.
Safety Concerns: The parking lot has been poorly maintained after snowstorms, creating hazardous conditions. Despite signage asking members to wipe their feet, no salt or plowing was provided to prevent slips and falls. This inconsistency between employee and member safety messaging is concerning.
Cleanliness and Hygiene: Bathrooms frequently smell and are not consistently cleaned. Inappropriate behavior, such as taking photos or videos in restrooms, has been observed without staff intervention.
Gym Etiquette and Music: Some members occupy multiple machines, and complaints are often dismissed. Music volume is too low, making it difficult to focus, and front desk conversations are audible from the middle of the gym.
Personal Training Services: While some trainers provide quality guidance, professional standards are inconsistent. Coaching should include respectful communication, individualized programming, and proper nutrition guidance.
Suggestions:
• Enforce rules consistently and train staff appropriately.
• Review equipment quality and repair or replace broken machines.
• Improve cleaning schedules, hygiene protocols, and monitoring.
• Maintain parking lots and entryways for member safety.
• Engage members through surveys to prioritize improvements.
• Ensure trainers meet professional standards for guidance and communication.
Metro Fitness has potential, but these operational and management issues need to be addressed to maintain member satisfaction, safety, and trust.

Good gym especially if you want to actually workout. It has that old school vibe with everything metal an serious bodybuilding going on around you.

Been going to the Hilliard location for almost a year now, some of the best selection of machines ive seen. You will have a great workout. BUT the bathrooms and showers are gross, visible grime all over the showers and they smell bad. I felt like I got dirtier after having a shower there. If you avoid the bathrooms and showers the experience is great.
