This was my first time at this dental office. The office is very clean and the check in procedure is as quick. The front desk staff were friendly and attentive. The dental hygienist and the dentist were both very friendly also and did a great job cleaning my teeth, getting X-rays and talking to me about the results of the X-rays. It was a great dental check up experience! I would recommend them!!

The Smile Design Group was able to get me in, the next day, for a loose crown. Dr. Kurtz and everyone there was very nice and very professional. Thank you.
Frequently Asked Questions About The Smile Design Group
Why are my teeth sensitive?
Tooth sensitivity often occurs due to gum recession, which exposes the underlying dentin. This exposed dentin allows easier access for temperature changes and food particles to reach the sensitive nerve endings. There are various treatment options available, including specialized toothpastes, gels, and dental procedures. We recommend scheduling a consultation to discuss your specific case and determine the most effective solution for your sensitive teeth.
What should I do to prevent gum disease and tooth decay?
Maintaining excellent oral hygiene at home is crucial for preventing gum disease and tooth decay. Consistently brushing and flossing daily forms the foundation of good oral health. By adhering to a regular oral care routine, you significantly reduce the risk of developing gingivitis or tooth decay as you age. We recommend brushing twice daily and flossing at least once a day for optimal results.
What is Gingivitis?
Gingivitis is an early stage of gum disease that occurs when bacteria accumulate around the teeth and infiltrate the gums. This bacterial invasion can lead to irritation, inflammation, and occasional bleeding of the gums. To prevent the progression of gingivitis, we strongly advise regular dental hygiene appointments. During these visits, our experienced hygiene team will demonstrate proper flossing techniques and provide a comprehensive oral hygiene protocol for effective home care to prevent periodontal disease.
