I usually have an okay experience with lens crafters, but the last time I went in to the kenwood location I was picking up a replacement pair of glasses. I wasn’t greeted when I walked in, I was told i would be assisted shortly, but then the worker rashonda blatantly ignored the fact I was just wandering around waiting to be helped, but she went out of her way to welcome in the next several people who came in the store after me, so I asked if I needed to be placed on a waitlist and she rudely responded, “we will be right with you..” as she’s assisting and helping people who came in after I did. Very poor costumer service, I pay a lot of money for my glasses to be treated poorly when I come in for help. I work in costumer service, and that kind of treatment is NEVER okay!

Marques J., Kenwood (Cincinnati) store was friendly, helpful, and accommodating, with SOLID recommendations and a full explanation about the options in front of me: either purchasing the RayBan sunglasses that I'd picked out at the Kenwood Sunglass Hut and bringing them to L.C. for lenses or buying the sunnies at L.C. and have them take care of the entire process including making the prescription lenses.
In terms of timing, warranty, and quality considerations, I chose to have L.C. take care of the entire transaction.
Marques could not have been a better choice to talk with about these options. I am so pleased he was my consultant (and now I can't wait to get the sunglasses! :)

I had a frustrating experience at the LensCrafters inside Kenwood Mall. I came in with my son’s prescription in hand and asked Freddie, the store supervisor, to have him measured. He said, “I’ll be with you in a moment,” so we waited and began looking at frames. While still waiting, another customer — a white woman and her daughter — came in, and he immediately greeted and began assisting them, even taking their measurements before us.
When I asked Freddie how long it would be before we were helped (since we were there first), he claimed he thought I wasn’t ready because I was looking at frames. That’s not what I said when I first arrived, and I found it dismissive and disrespectful. He continued to help others who came in after me.
My family felt disregarded, especially since we came in prepared with my son’s prescription and was ready to purchase to glasses we had picked out the night before (with Freddie). I’ve requested the corporate contact information and plan to file a formal complaint about this experience.
I’m not understanding why he literally stood at his desk without assisting us, that is until the other customers walked in. By that point, I had grown tired of waiting and took a seat, still expecting him to help us next. Eventually another associate, Marques, helped to get my son measured. When I complained about Freddie he was rather nonchalant as well. Overall experience was poor, no accountability whatsoever, overall poor customer service.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
