My sister and I came in for a comprehensive eye exam. The doctor was excellent, and the assistant was also very professional. We requested our pupillary distance (PD) to be measured, which is essential when ordering glasses online. The doctor mentioned he didn’t have the tools for it, so we asked the branch manager for assistance.
Unfortunately, the manager was completely uncooperative and refused to measure the PD for my sister. Another staff member was kind enough to measure mine, which allowed me to place my order.
We submitted a complaint, and the manager later called us. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, she was rude and insisted that we should not speak to her supervisor, claiming that “nobody is above her authority.” This was extremely concerning and unprofessional.
To make matters worse, the doctor had already confirmed that PD is a function of the patient and does not change from one frame to another. Despite this, the manager insisted otherwise, giving us incorrect information and creating unnecessary obstacles.
Because of the manager’s behavior and the way our complaint was handled, we left very disappointed. My two sisters, my mother, and I were planning to purchase our eyeglasses from this location, but after this experience, we no longer feel comfortable doing so. I expect a formal apology and a proper appointment to complete my sister’s PD measurement without further issues.

I wish I could give a -10 rating. The eye Dr. employees here are the most unprofessional and rude individuals I've ever spoken too.
I've never visited this office before. I was referred by the Kenwood office where I go annually to the Rookwood office for a specific exam because they didn't have the equipment to do necessary exam in the Kenwood location.
They canceled my appt twice!
The first time I arrived they casually tell me that the Dr had to leave early and wouldn't have enough time to see me for my full exam that he could do one part and come on another date for the remainder or I could reschedule the full service which I did.
The day of the rescheduled appt they left a VM at 11:45a stating they were canceling the appt because I didn't confirm the appointment which I made standing in their office. It made absolutely no sense so I returned the immediately. I spoke with a very passive aggressive young woman who appeared to be the one who left the VM and when mentioning addressing that this was a rescheduled from the previous appt they said they could do the full service on. She then begins to say well we're also canceling it because they supposed to be snow and were trying leave early. Snow that wasn't forecasted until the following night. She suggested I come in by 1p or reschedule (my appt was originally scheduled for 4p) I told her that it was a huge inconvenience but I would be there by 1p.
Five minutes later at 11:54 I got another call from a different woman stating that if I couldn't be there by noon (6 mins from the time of the call) they were cancelling the appt because as of now they're leaving at lunch time.
I kindly requested to have the Dr call me regarding this experience before end of business day. She rudely refuses to accept the request stating that he's busy and wouldn't call me back because there's nothing they can do about the appointment cancellation. At that point I asked to be removed from their system as I would never come there service when they were already rude and unprofessional over the phone, she responded sarcastically sure! and disconnected the call.
My only recommendation would be to never go to the Lens Crafters Dr offices in Rookwood!
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
