I have been bringing my daughter to this location for years solely because of our pediatrician, who is consistently exceptional. However, today’s experience with Connie, the receptionist, was profoundly disappointing and frankly antithetical to the professionalism this practice claims to uphold.
Connie has occasionally made subtly rude remarks in the past, but today she escalated her behavior to an egregious, blatantly discourteous level. Her tone was abrupt, impatient, and unnecessarily matter-of-fact in a way that felt intentionally belittling. What made the situation even more disheartening is that after I informed her that I was ill, she seemed even less accommodating — almost insistent on compounding the difficulty of a process that should have been straightforward and compassionate.
Despite us arriving an hour early, she chose not to place my daughter’s paperwork back for check-in until the exact moment of the appointment, creating an avoidable and frankly inexplicable inconvenience. For someone whose job requires daily interaction with families and children, her lack of empathy, decorum, and basic interpersonal competence was astonishing.
Receptionists represent the face of the practice; they set the tone the moment a patient walks through the door. Unfortunately, Connie’s demeanor projects an image of unprofessionalism, indifference, and a severe deficit in emotional intelligence. It was distasteful, disconcerting, and wholly unbecoming of a healthcare environment that should prioritize kindness and respect.
I left feeling not only disrespected but genuinely disgusted by the encounter. This level of behavior is unacceptable, and it reflects poorly on the entire establishment. If this is the type of representation they are comfortable with, I will seriously reconsider returning.
