I have very quirky vision, and can be a challenge to work with because of it, I Initially came here a couple years before COVID and was very happy with the doctor at the time, a Dawn Barkan O.D., (unfortunately she now works for Walmart in North Olmsted, lucky Walmart clients), she took the time to understand my issues as a result I was very happy with the exam, and the Maple Leaf Optical who turned my prescriptions to glasses were very good, unfortunately I would have to get at least one remake each time because they would put me in the “better” lenses which my eyes don’t like, only high index plastic seems to work for me, the last pair I got from them was about a year or so before Covid and they were almost perfect and lasted me until now, I would still be using them if they weren’t so scratched up, unfortunately neither Dr. Barkan or the Maple Leaf optical are there any more.
While polite the new eyeglasses section soured my view of their service.
The optometrist seemed rushed, and I had to get a re-exam, not to big of a deal.
But I ended up having to get my glasses re-made 3 times and they still aren’t right, and I was told to take my business else where because I was to picky.
The first was the standard mistake, wrong lens material, but also the lenses were too big, and they had poor clarity.
The second time, the lenses were still too big and the clarity although better was not aligned properly, so one eye would be clear but the other would be ever so slightly fuzzy.
The 3rd time the clarity was tolerable, but the lenses were still too big and the edges were still sharp and unfinished, I ended up going back a 4th time due to their lab cutting the mounting screws and not clean them up.
At this point due to the fact that my frames, (which weren’t even bought there), were damaged, bent and stretched, the glasses were poorly made and the overall quality was subpar I requested a refund with the hopes that the next time it would be better, but to add insult to injury, I was told there wouldn’t be a next time and to take my business elsewhere because apparently they could not provide the level of quality I expected, making me feel like the bad guy and that I was being too picky for wanting to be able to see correctly.
I was told I would receive my refund in about 2 weeks, 2½ weeks later, no refund, I call and am informed it will be another week, I did finally get my refund which is now the only good part of the experience.
If you have picky vision and expect quality out the gate.... I hope you have better luck than I did ....
I unfortunately now I have to find a new quality Optometrist again.
