Nick Delp was professional, knowledgeable and thorough during our meeting. He then went above and beyond when he swapped out my daughter’s worn wheel bearings, knowing we’d have a few weeks before we received her new front wheels. Great service! Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful!

The team at National Seating and Mobility is very experienced and provide quality service to the patients. My son needed his wheelchair adjusted every year and they've always provided excellent work, while keeping in mind my son's specific needs (with multiple disabilities). I am very satisfied with the service, their dedication to providing good custom made products to fit my son's needs as these changed drastically over the years due to his disabilities. Because of their care and excellent service, my son has enjoyed a better quality of life and I am very grateful.

Dawn has been the only person our daughter has worked with for equipment for over 10 years, and there is simply no replacing her. She knows our daughter, she knows our family, and she knows Sophia’s needs inside and out. We never have to worry — ever — because Dawn already anticipates what’s needed before we even ask. She understands the complexity, the details, and the importance of getting everything exactly right, and she does it with care, consistency, and heart.
She’s not just a vendor or a rep — she’s part of our family. That level of trust, history, and dedication is rare, and it’s priceless when you’re caring for a child with significant needs. From start to finish, the service, knowledge, and compassion we receive from Dawn and NSM is exceptional.
Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
