Liars, Liars, Liars. Sales person told me there was a thirty percent discount on everything and a two hundred and fifty dollar rebate from my insurance company. It's easy to give large discount when they are over charging by three hundred percent. The sales person quote me a price of $650.00. I went to Steven John Opticians in Riverdale only 15 minutes away from Sterling Optical. I was charged $250.
My family and I have shopped at this store for ten years. We have been happy with the selection of glasses and their customer service over that time. We recently purchased glasses and met 2 of the most engaging and conscientious sales people we ever met. They are Alan and Wendy, the manager. They were helpful in assisting us in choosing the best aesthetically pleasing frames and took our order in a caring and professional manner. When we picked up the completed glasses, they made sure that they fit correctly and adjusted them multiple times when needed. They are not only professional and competent but also caring.

I went to this location last week and had a terrible experience to say the very least. I went in for just an eye exam and they told me in order to use my insurance I had to purchase my lens's through them which I later found out is completely false. Once I found out I was lied to I called back first thing in the morning and they refused to refund me. I have now spoken to the store owner who also refuses to refund my credit card for an item I never wanted in the first place. Stay far away as this is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever received.
Dr Sohn is one of a kind especially with kids you will never find a dr like her. AMAZING!!
The staff .. a different story, not trained, rude unprofessional but you cannot blame them if the manager is worse, rude racist, he turned his back from me on the front desk so he doesn’t check me in and there was no else there to check me in!! I waited 20 minutes for him to help me with buying glasses next to him while he was holding a conversation with this guy , of course I decided not to buy from that store that doesn’t have much options anyway , i knew i could get better glasses better price some where else. One staff member says they have my insurance information the other member says they don’t. It’s a mess.
Honestly Dr. Sohn is great and worth dealing with that staff horribleness but will not buy from them. Will be waiting for Dr. Sohn to practice somewhere else .
