Far superior to JC Pavilion Pharmacy, which I have NEVER used. Have used Shipper's Road since it first open and had a totally different lay out. Too bad the quality of personnel @Shipper's isn't available at the JC Pavilion Pharmacy, which I live barely a 1/2 mile from. And I am already banned from the JC Pharmacy. With a Pharmacist that wants me banned from the Pavilion building.
I’m a Type 1 diabetic and have been for 30 years. I had an emergency Saturday night when my insulin pump malfunctioned, and I won't be getting a replacement until Tuesday. I needed a temporary way to take insulin, so I had to go through the on-call doctor to send an emergency prescription to this pharmacy, which I have been using for over 10 years. The entire experience has been a nightmare, and the staff has been unhelpful and completely lacking in empathy.
Because it was the weekend, every time there was an issue I had to leave messages for the on-call doctor and wait for them to respond. Someone picked up my prescription for me, but the staff didn't mention that my short-acting insulin couldn’t be filled. When I called about it, I was told it was on hold because the prescription didn’t list a max dose. After finally reaching the on-call doctor again to fix that, I called back and was told the pharmacy didn’t even have the insulin in stock. I’m not sure why they didn’t mention that the first time, because it could have been addressed right away. Now I have to call the on-call doctor a third time, and since this whole process has taken hours, it won’t be able to be filled before the pharmacy closes.
This is a critical medication I depend on to manage my blood sugar safely, and the staff did not seem to care or make any effort to help me get it before closing. Now I am left without short-acting insulin until tomorrow because it was not important enough for anyone there to help. This pharmacy has gone downhill since Guthrie has taken over, and I would recommend going to the UHS Pharmacy Johnson City instead, they at least care and are open 24 hours.
they are very kind and helpfull they go above and beyound being helpful i enjoy going there 😀
I don’t have any issues about any part of Guthrie. From lab work to pharmacy to walking. I like the idea of having a place to sit while waiting on meds. I have serious back issues so standing for 10-15 minutes is not good. The building is always clean too. The staff has always been very helpful.
