Physicians and Staff are amazing! Always feel supported and at home when I am there. Will continue to refer family and friends to this location. Dr. Ortiz is the most calming and understanding physician, she listens and guides me to where I need to be and what I need to do to get to where I need to be physically and mentally. I would give her 10 Stars if there was an option, always pleased and feel at ease after seeing her. Thank you Doc

This is truly one of the most compassionate teams of healthcare professionals I’ve encountered. They genuinely care about you and your success in the program. Everyone I worked with throughout the entire process was warm, patient, and kind which definitely made me feel more comfortable. These doctors are the real deal and have put together an amazing team! I'm so glad I chose Staten Island University Hospital for my bariatric surgery!!!

I am beyond pleased with the care and coordinated efforts of my Bariatric Surgical team at SIUH.
Surgeon Dr. Olivia Haney is a blessing to know. She is gifted with a giant personality that is warm and compassionate. Her surgical skills are honed so that there is minimal Post-op pain or scaring. She actually stopped by to visit me while I was recuperating in the hospital.
It's refreshing to have a physician who listens and communicates with the patient.
As a Pre-op patient I received step by step guidance via print and team consultations from Bariatric Nurse Lyndis Mills-Jude, RN and Dietician John Delos Reyes, MS RDN.
If I did not clearly understand any part of the literature or sometimes had more questions after a consultation; it was comforting to know that the team is just a phone call away.
The surgical team and ICU staff are an exceptional group of professionals.
The Post-op Zoom group meetings are a continuing educational series moderated by the above mentioned Nurse and Dietician.
It's good to have an emotional soundboard.
A year earlier I had unsuccessful Lap-band surgery at a well-known NYC Hospital which drastically paled in comparison on a multitude of levels to the care that I received at SIUH.
Thank you SIUH professionals for being here for me.
