My moms stay post surgery at the ER has been the closest thing to hell on earth.
The staff is ignorant, lacks empathy and communication skills.
They left my mom’s catheter in her lung for fluid over an entire weekend in pain, because doctors weren’t available to remove it. I can’t even believe I’m saying that out loud, it’s an ER at a hospital…..There was no doctor available Friday 5pm until Monday 8am to remove her catheter. So they let her rot for 2-3 days because doctors went out to go play in their hamptons house.
Don’t ever get sick over a weekend and go to this hell hole. Used to be the best, no more.

My wife and had three surgeries at St. Francis over the years.
We've always were treated with respect and kindness. There staff and doctors (Dr. Michael Kang)
are the best, professional and caring.
I just recently had my right Hip replaced. The recovery team was impeccable especially Nurse Abby.
Thank you all including your volunteer staff much, God Bless you.
Have a healthy and happy Easter & Passover holiday.

My experience with this provider was extremely disappointing. Not only was Dr. Hoch’s bedside manner lacking, but the early morning appointments seemed more about meeting patient quotas than about patient care. During my visit, Dr. Hoch saw me for a few minutes and recommended multiple tests without any clear explanation. I was told I might have a life-threatening cardiac rhythm, but was advised to simply return in two weeks — an alarming statement that was later refuted by two other physicians. The overall impression was that the priority was billing for expensive tests rather than genuinely addressing my concerns about this life-altering news. His approach was impersonal, and I left feeling confused and running for a second opinion. I will not be returning, nor will I recommend this provider to my friends or family.

i was just diagnosed with HBP on 2/26/2096 at Northshore ER and was back there following day with the worst headache for 12 hours. So having the chest tightness prompted me to call an ambulance on March 1 2026 and its how i ended up in St Francis.
At around 1 am After being prodded and poked for three days i was overwhelmed and concerned so a little tenderness especially from someone who is supposed to be caring for you in the ER is expected..let me tell you that the Staff there that night may have been overworked or exhausted but that is no excuse to mistreat ANY PATIENT IN THE ER! the Nurse that was assigned to me had an awful attitude and was dismissive/ abrupt and only came to see me to introduce himself as my Nurse and to draw blood where we clashed.
He did not like that i would not allow him to prick me as he wished , I told him i would only allow one poke if he failed someone else would have to try, his attitude was not tender or kind or Professional and when i told him about his attitude he said this “ well im just matching your energy “
Imagine that ? Well theres gonna be a lot if ppl transferred to the morgue from that ER because ppl in the ER already are stressed and here we have this big heavy set Nurse whose name was Paul or Paulino with an attitude that would be better suited in a Prison perhaps.
Did i have a tone or an attitude.. i bet i did and im the Patient who is 69 years old whose pressure was elevating due to my feeling offended and disrespected as told to me by another Nurse on staff.
I signed myself out against medical advice but if you have Nurses in the ER who think its smart to “match the energy” of the incoming patients and to even voice that proudly you have a bigger problem than you know.Your mission statement is NOT being honored.
