Dr Inouye is the best - always talks you through your entire exam, explains everything and always ready to answer questions. Eugene is also fantastic. While I was there he was helping someone with contacts for what seemed to be their first time. Just over-hearing their convo, he was patient, professional and friendly. I love this office.

Booked 2 appointments at here. First time, I showed up and they had no record of an appointment being made. Second time, called a week before my appointment to confirm they had me in the book and was told they have no record of my appointment being made. Terrible business.

I went into lens crafters recently to purchase glasses with my boyfriend. It was a busy Monday night when we walked in, but Zeke made the experience effortless and simple. We came in with a prescription received by another provider, which was printed with the wrong date on it. Instead of turning us away, Zeke got everything prepared for us with the prescription we had and advised us to have our Doctor to fax in the correct prescription and call back in to pay at that time. When I called back after having the doctor fax the new script, they knew exactly who I was, and had all of our information ready to go. When picking up the glasses, we were greeted by equally friendly and helpful associates who almost seemed to expect us, like we were old friends. In my experience with chain stores, I don’t typically receive this type of customer service. After my experience here, I will now get my glasses from lens crafters in Poughkeepsie, as my boyfriend always has. Thank you again to our new Friend Zeke, and the rest of our Pals at Lens Crafters!

If it weren’t for the nice doctor it would get 1 star. I used to go here as a kid. This was the place I learned how to put contacts in. It was nostalgic to come back after getting new insurance. But it was not so nostalgic when I left. The front desk individual had a sour look on their face. They look at you over their glasses at you like you aren’t supposed to be there. I told a few jokes and it didn’t get a laugh out of her which, fine, whatever. Trying to break the ice. They just seemed to be in a sour mood. Then came the pre testing. She seemed annoyed she had to do it to begin with. When it came to the glaucoma test I’ve never had someone do it so poorly. I was blasted with air 6 times in each eye because she couldn’t get the test right. Never in my 15 years of getting my eyes tested and looked at has that ever happened to me. I wanted to cry because I was so uncomfortable. Then with the retina scanning she seemed annoyed because I couldn’t get it right. It’s a sensitive machine. Just all around terrible experience with them. The doctor was nice. Very informative. Then he asked me if I needed contacts I said yes so he says let’s order trials then made it seem like he ordered them. I was in the room when he said “alright those are ordered those will be here in a few days” it had been over a week so I called them. They acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. Then I got put on the line with the front desk lady who was annoyed with me last time and says she’s the one who’s supposed to order contacts. Okay then why did the doctor and I walk right passed the front desk and then have me check out with the retail side???????? Get your act together lens crafters and hire a new front desk person. They’re miserable. I’ve never been more irritated.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
