I normally don’t like leaving negative reviews, but given how poorly rated this practice already is—and based on my latest experience—I feel it’s only fair to share my own. I’ve had my daughter established here since she was born. Fortunately, she’s been a healthy child, so we mainly came in for her annual checkups. Even after moving to Queens, I chose not to switch pediatricians because we had been content with the care—until now.
My reason for this review is the complete lack of empathy shown by the office staff and manager. We live in Queens, and traffic unexpectedly delayed us for two hours, making us 17 minutes late. I fully understand the office has a 15-minute grace period, but they refused to see us for being just two minutes over. The receptionist mentioned they still had 10 patients to be seen, so if we were not the last appointment, I don’t understand why we couldn’t remain on the schedule. I even offered to wait until every other patient had been seen, knowing we were late.
The receptionist and manager claimed they asked the doctor, who “refused” to see us. As a healthcare provider myself, I would never turn a patient away in this manner. It was clear empathy was not a priority. I had even called an hour before to notify them that we were stuck in traffic, yet they insisted no one informed them. No one asked why it was important for my daughter to be seen that same day, which only further showed how little they cared.
Their only solution was to reschedule—even after I explained that my work schedule makes it extremely difficult to travel all the way to Long Island again. In the end, maybe they did me a favor, because I will now be switching pediatricians.
My hope is that this review encourages the staff and providers to reflect and practice more empathy toward their patients and families.
