I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the care my mother recently received while under your supervision. My mother is a stage 4 cancer patient and is in a highly fragile condition, requiring not only skilled medical attention but also compassion, patience, and gentleness from all staff involved in her care.
During a recent interaction, a nurse handled my mother in a manner that I found deeply troubling and unacceptable. While attempting to insert a needle, the nurse forcefully grabbed my mother’s arm and proceeded despite my mother clearly expressing that she was in pain. This approach was not only physically distressing for her but also emotionally upsetting for both of us.
As my mother’s advocate, I feel it is my responsibility to speak up on her behalf. Patients—especially those in vulnerable conditions—deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and empathy. Medical professionals are entrusted with the well-being of their patients, and that trust includes providing care that is both competent and compassionate.
I understand that healthcare environments can be demanding; however, that does not excuse rough or dismissive behavior toward patients. If a staff member is unable to provide care with the level of professionalism and sensitivity required, it is important that this be addressed appropriately.
I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed and that appropriate steps are taken to ensure that all patients receive the quality of care they deserve. No patient, especially one battling advanced cancer, should have to endure unnecessary pain or feel disregarded during treatment.
Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. I look forward to your response and to seeing improvements that reflect the standards of care your institution represents.

I just want to take a moment to sincerely thank Dr. Inssoo Suh, MD, at NYU Langone in NYC for doing such an amazing job on my thyroidectomy / transoral endoscopic surgery.
God truly placed me in the right hands. Thank you, Dr. Suh, for your skill, excellence, and care throughout this process. I am recovering and healing well, and I am so grateful. You really understood the assignment because the surgery was excellent, and I hardly have any scarring at all. With time, my incision scar will continue to fade, and for that I am beyond thankful.
It means so much to be able to look at my healing and smile. What could have been a scary journey has turned into a testimony of grace, healing, and expert medical care. Thank you for helping me move forward with peace of mind and confidence.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Eric K. Oermann and the entire neurosurgery team at NYU Langone Health.
Before my surgery I was experiencing severe back and leg pain and had lost much of my quality of life. From the very first meeting, Dr. Oermann impressed me not only with his exceptional professionalism, but also with his humanity and compassion.
On the morning of my surgery, he came to see me early and spoke with such confidence and kindness that my fear disappeared. At that moment I felt that half of my healing had already begun.
There is a beautiful idea from the ancient tradition of medicine: a great physician heals 50% with kind words, 25% with medicine, and 25% with the knife. In my experience, Dr. Oermann truly embodies this timeless wisdom.
The surgery itself was performed with extraordinary precision and professionalism. When I later read the operative report, I realized the level of expertise and dedication involved. It was not simply a procedure — it was surgical mastery.
I would also like to thank the wonderful team who contributed to my care:
Dr. Hannah K. Weiss — Assistant Surgeon
Dr. Aly Valliani — Assistant Surgeon
Dr. Anna Shor — Neurophysiology
and the outstanding care team:
Barno Ashurmetova — First Contact Provider
Aaron — Nurse
Tashana — Patient Care Technician
Andrea — Social Worker
Viktoryia — Case Manager
as well as the many nurses and operating room staff whose professionalism and kindness made such a difference.
NYU Langone is fortunate to have such an exceptional physician and team. I feel deeply grateful to have been treated by Dr. Oermann and his colleagues.
Thank you for restoring not only my health, but also my confidence and hope.

Concerns regarding ICU Nursing Care and Discharge Coordination
I am writing to express my disappointment with the nursing care my father received following his triple bypass surgery. While the surgery itself was a success, the ICU experience was marred by a lack of professional conduct and poor communication.
Requests for assistance were frequently ignored, and staff remained uncooperative regarding medical updates despite my legal authorization to receive them. Furthermore, the discharge process was handled with a complete lack of regard for patient safety; forcing a discharge during a blizzard with no regard for the family's ability to provide safe transport is unacceptable.
The dismissive attitude of the staff has been distressing for our family during a very vulnerable time. We expected a much higher standard of care from this institution.

I took my friend to the ER here when she had alcohol poisoning and the staff were EXCELLENT. Everyone was so patient, attentive, and caring. All the nurses were super present with their patients making regularly appearances, checking in as frequently as possible, and trying to make them comfortable. The doctors also seemed to check in on the patients relatively frequently and were great at listening, understanding, and working to create a plan. They did not have rooms available and the hallways were packed with patients which is not ideal. They also had no more available chairs for family members / caregivers which was not great. However, the staff were so incredibly attentive and caring and tried to be understanding and accommodating for all the patients and family member given the situation. If you are looking for an ER with excellent, caring, and attentive staff, I would definitely recommend this hospital!
