  I met with Dr. Martin and she seemed great until she refused to submit my surgery case for insurance approval until I got braces and wore them for several months. The braces would actually make my bite worse in the lead-up to surgery. This was unacceptable because why would I be willing to have my bite made worse without the guarantee that the surgery that would ultimately correct it would be affordable? I was made to feel like it was unheard of for me to expect this. There was way too much uncertainty built into the process and I have since found out that this is not the norm. Other surgeons actually build it into their process to submit for insurance approval before braces would be put on, which makes for a much better situation.

  Doctor was really good. However the clinic was a scam. When I first called about removing my wisdom teeth and asked about how much cost it would be for me and they said 'It will be covered by your insurance'. It led me to misbelieve that it will be fully covered by my insurance which was a little odd to start with but i believed them. Months after i got a bill saying i had to pay almost $700 myself (insurance covered 50%) and i was in shock. I couldn't be more sure that when I first called they told me that it will be covered by insurance and did not tell me the amount that i'd have to pay / the total costs. I called them and the billing person (called Tanya?) got very aggressive and started to yell at me and threatened that if i don't pay within a week she will submit to collection when I was clearly outside walking and told her I couldn't pay right away. Very rude service. Very disappointed. I would have chosen another place that would at least inform about the cost and not so rude to me. THEY CLEARLY WERE JUST TRYING TO GET MY MONEY!!

  Dr. Hirsch is a great physician, he takes the time to listen to every concern, and understand every aspect involved in your procedure to ensure it's done right the first time. Very pleased with my experience, couldn't have asked for a better surgeon (or office staff) to help guide me through my surgery.

  I came to Dr. Hirsch with a severe infection that had resulted from a previous procedure from another surgeon, who had been unable to properly diagnose the infection and unwilling to work with my personal physician to treat it. Within ten minutes of sitting down with Dr. Hirsch he was able to correctly diagnose the problem and recommend a course of surgery and treatment to correct the problem. He called my personal physician immediately and worked out a proper course of antibiotics as well as moving very quickly to remove several infected lymph nodes. I cannot thank Dr. Hirsch and his very attentive, kind and hard-working staff enough for saving me from what might have been a fatally dangerous situation. You are in the best of care with Dr. Hirsch and Manhattan Maxillofacial Surgery.
