I had a scheduled eye appointment on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 9:20 AM. I arrived promptly, expecting professional and courteous customer service. Upon entering the store, I immediately sensed an unwelcoming disposition from the front desk staff. The greeting was minimally inviting. After checking in, I was told to have a seat and that someone would assist me shortly. I was the first and only patient in the store at the time. About five minutes later, the same staff member brought me into an exam room and instructed me to place my belongings to the side. The interaction quickly shifted to a discussion about exam costs. There was no attempt at basic rapport-building—no greeting beyond check-in, no inquiry about my morning, and no welcoming gesture. The explanation of pricing felt passive and transactional. When I mentioned that I did not need an exam for glasses, I was interrupted and told that the exam automatically included glasses. I responded “okay,” though I did not fully understand what I was agreeing to. The situation escalated when the staff member stated that I did not have to proceed with the service, saying, “take it or leave it.” The tone felt condescending and dismissive. I was taken aback by the comment, as it came across as unprofessional and discourteous. I calmly decided to discontinue the appointment, gathered my belongings, and walked toward the front of the store. Before leaving, I felt it was appropriate to inform another staff member about the interaction. I was told it was a “miscommunication” related to pricing rather than a personal disregard. However, this explanation did not address the tone or manner in which I was spoken to, which I found inappropriate and unsettling. I arrived prepared for a professional experience, having previously been a customer. I had arranged transportation and made the effort to be on time. Instead, the encounter left me shaken and disappointed. As a result, I declined to continue with the exam. This was one of the most negative eye care experiences I have had.

Read the reviews people, I made the mistake of not reading them until after my horrible experience in this place. Even after confirming they offer same day glasses which I need cause I’m leaving town. Only to get here and be told oh no not today sorry. Since that’s the case all my business will be going to americas best. I should probably thank the staff for saving me a couple hundred cash

Customer service lady was so patronizing!!! Only giving it another star because the eye doctor was really friendly and nice. I’d only come here for an eye exam if I were you, don’t buy glasses here. I get everyone needs to make sales but these ladies are so rude 😤 they should take training on how to be better at their job lol cos clearly I’m not the only one who experienced this (see other customer reviews).

I’ve been to this LensCrafters five times now. The doctors are great- professional, kind, and thorough. They make the experience comfortable and take their time with patients. Unfortunately, the front desk staff has had a consistently nasty attitude every visit, which really takes away from the overall experience. On top of that, you can never reach them by phone, there’s no email, and it’s extremely difficult to get in touch if you ever have questions.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
