Called this place a head of time to confirm my insurance and glasses I wanted. Showed up and hour early and they said they were booked and they couldnt see me till my appt time of 11:40am. Which i understand. So I left and came back at 11:30pm. Didnt get seen till 12pm after standing for 30min. The doctor was very good and thorough. After that I was with a sales rep. After 3 HOURS, they were unable to get the insurance auth number needed, the rep didnt seem like she wanted to help. I was making the calls on my phone in front of her, even though insurance company needed to speak to the rep. So I paid my Co pay and left. Took 2 hours each way to get there from long island cause I thought I had to go to the city to use the insurance I had. They verified it was covered. But nope. 15min on the phone to the Holbrook location on long island. They were able to get the auth number and took care of everything. Literally walked in with zero wait time, paid for the remaining balance on the glasses and I left. Big difference between a staff that is aware of how to handle and figure out a solution and a staff thats hoping you dont come back.

I’m really disappointed as Dr. Choi was an amazing optometrist and seems to really care about the patients but the rest of the staff sadly do not match her professionalism. I called and was greeted by a man and before I could say anything he said let me put you on hold and then left me on hold for 14 minutes. I called back again and this time the machine said someone would automatically call me back as everyone is busy, but after almost an hour I decided to call back myself. I get connected with who I suspect is the same gentleman so I quickly explain that I’ve been trying to contact them and kept being put on hold and if he could please check some info for me and possibly help me make an appointment. He sounded nice so I figured FINALLY and he said he would pull it up by my phone number and the of course…. Put on hold again and now a woman picks up asking how to help me?! I ask her please don’t put me on hold as I keep getting put on hold and I really just need to know when my last appointment was and possibly book another one depending on when it was. She pulls up my last date at least but then says she has to put me on hold to help other customers so now they have lost me as one going forward.

Fantastic experience - ask for Rachel! She's so smart and knowledgable and has great taste with picking glasses styles and helping navigate complex vision benefits / FSA benefits. Can't say enough good things about this place!
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
