I was in NYU Essex crossing for medical services and I have to say and have to take my time to complement two receptionists for there outstanding communication, both receptionists work at your 171 Delancey Street office. I have been at the above location twice in the last few weeks.
Yesmarlyn and Arleen are both exceptional
Polite caring compassionate. My husband has Alzheimer’s/dementia and he get’s confused very fast and want to do everything by himself. The help he got and the patience these receptionist had for him was just incredible. I was take by there love and caring and doing there job with an heart.
The two receptionists names are below
Yesmarlyn and Arleen meet George at two different offices visits.
The time they both took to listen to his slowness and what he wanted to say was something I haven’t experienced in as many facility I have been with George.
Thank you so much. Please convey my appreciation to both of your receptions Yesmarlyn and Arleen. I’m not sure which one we meet first and which one was the second reception But both are exceptional staff members on your team.

Dr Aggarwal is a competent, wonderful orthopedic practitioner. I'm really grateful that his office is one block away from my apartment. I have been seeing him regularly for injections until the time comes when I need a knee replacement. Here is why I gave the practice 1 star. I had a scheduled appt with Dr Aggarwal and was notified that I could get a sooner appointment for which I was grateful. I showed up this morning and palm-scanned and it said I had an appointment with a PA (nothing against PA's but I have had bad injections in the past which have rendered me unable to walk for 2 days). I went to the front desk and said, "I think there is a mistake, it says i have an appointment with a PA when i'm supposed to see Dr. Aggarwal" and she responded "Your're checked in". I was taken into the room checked in by an assistant and she informed me I was going to see a PA. I asked her "the PA is not going to do the injection, are they?" and she responded. "no". A PA then came in and informed me that Dr. Aggarwal was not in and his appointments were re-scheduled and she was surprised nobody called me to inform me. I would not have wasted my time or theirs. She informed me that Dr. Aggarwal would be in next friday Jan 23 and someone will call me to re-schedule my appointment for that day. We will see what happens. This whole visit was so unprofessional. I should have been called and asked if it was Ok to be scheduled for an injection with the PA. The front desk should have informed me that Dr. Aggarwal was not there. I should have been informed by the assistant that Dr. Aggarwal was not there and the PA would be the one giving me the injection. This facility needs to be re-trained.

I had to get a diagnostic test there since that's where one of my doctors does his procedures. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the place, everything was neat. That's a huge plus for this facility and its staff. It's huge inside, think of it opposed to almost anywhere else in Manhattan where it's small and overcrowded generally -- and possibly dirty. The staff, including the front desk, were super nice to me and very professional. They always explained what was going on and were deliberately very careful on how they approached everything. Another big plus! My qualm comes with the lack of a recovery area for patients, like a small lounge or something like it, given that I had to wait, sedated, in a very small and semi-uncomfortable chair in the hallway for a while before I got released. The juice and crackers that they gave you while in recovery, also a bit of a let down. But anyways, it's not a hotel, but for all the space that they have in that facility, they could do better. Also, the NYU staff/culture is a little intense as far as the amount of follow up, documents, time of arrival, prep work, etc... so just be aware of that.
There are subway stations very close by, plenty of food choices (including Essex market), and the nice scenery of the Williamsburg Bridge. All and all, it's comforting to know that the facility is taken care of impeccably, and you don't feel like you're in some deadbeat medical office, where you're praying, not for your health, but to not catch a bacterial infection instead. So this is almost a 5 star place for me. Will definitely go back if I need to do so!
