  It is impossible to buy anything in the shop without first giving your email address. So I left. Why is my email address necessary to pay for a $5 item? I am worried about what the next step will be (phone number, dob, social security number?). In response to GNC: you refuse to sell items to customers if they do not agree to give their email address. You cannot then say that you respect your customers' privacy.
