- HKHOWARD KRULIKAug 15, 20225.0Back in June 2022 I decided to go into my local Miracle Ear store here in the Nanuet Market. They were advertising a “free hearing exam”. So I took the exam and than I spoke with the technician. Mind you I have been wearing hearing aids now for over 5 years. The technician showed me what I suspected all along, a hearing loss. I’ve made excuses to my employers as well as family members saying “can you repeat yourself “ or “ what did you say?”. So I sat with the technician as he showed me the different models available all of them rechargeable, which to me was the first step (which meant no more batteries). But which one should I take even though the prices started at over $3,000. dollars. I also came into this store with a rebate from my insurance company. It seems Medicare does not cover Hearing Aids. The technician took the rebate and worked out a payment plan for me something that I felt I could live with. Fast forward, it is now August some 2 months after getting my hearing aids and I can not begin to tell you what these 2 small items in my ears have done for me. I now watch tv with the volume at a normal range, I can speak on the telephone without screaming into the receiver. And the best part they are Bluetooth capable so when I use my iPhone I can make and receive calls while driving or just walking around in my local store. The other day I was driving in New Jersey and got stuck in a traffic mess so I decided to take a shortcut and hope to beat the traffic. The only thing I managed to do was get lost somewhere in the local streets of Newark trying to get to the NJT (New Jersey Turnpike). I quickly pulled over and opened my GOOGLE MAPS on my iPhone. I could not believe the clarity of listening to the directions through my ears where to turn, how long it would take. I was never able with my other hearing aids to do with maps while driving. I am so grateful to Miracle Ears. Yes they are expensive but than I asked myself one thing aren’t I worth It? The store I’m referring to is located at 426 Market Street in the Nanuet Mall South Plaza. This is the strip mall directly behind the Nanuet Mall in the back where Quest Diagnostics is located.
