  I have no idea how this place has high ratings. I have been wearing glasses or contacts since 1986 and I have never experienced such incompetence.

  I had a great experience at this optics store while getting my eye exam for my DMV renewal. The receptionist was extremely helpful and went out of her way to try to process my insurance so I wouldn’t have to pay out of pocket which I really appreciated. Dr. Lucia was also wonderful, very professional, kind, and accommodating. When my insurance information wasn’t fully up to date, she still extended courtesy and made sure I was taken care of without any stress. Highly recommended!!

  This place is extremely unprofessional and dishonest. I trusted them to do my eye exam and make my glasses, and THE PRESCRIPTION THEY GAVE ME WAS WRONG. As a result, the glasses were useless and uncomfortable. When I went back to explain the issue, they completely ignored me. They refused to recheck my eyes, refused to remake the glasses, and refused to give me a refund. Instead of taking responsibility for THEIR mistake, they treated me badly, spoke to me with attitude, and acted like I was the problem. They have zero customer service, zero ethics, and zero respect for people. They only care about money, not about patients’ vision or well-being. Once they get your payment, they don’t care what happens to you. I strongly warn anyone reading this: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. There are many better optical stores that actually care about their customers. This place is not one of them.

  It pains me to write this review after trying for many years to find an optometrist in the neighborhood. This is the first time in my 40 years in which I felt like a doctor was trying to take advantage of me and charge more for nothing. I have a relatively minimal prescription but have had some non-serious corneal issues for years. For two additional charges above my co-pay, I agreed to have the doctor take two different photos of my eyes, at her suggestion. When my glasses came back, the prescription was unworkable: I could not leave the glasses on without getting nauseous. At the next appointment to correct the problem--for which I had to wait one hour after the time I scheduled--I was informed that I needed to pay ANOTHER co-pay, which was required if I was going to make any use of the expensive glasses I had just purchased. The doctor said that, after we agreed on the prescription, she thought she would just increase the prescription in one eye to account for the corneal issues, which we had not discussed. We changed the prescription back to what we agreed on during the exam, and when I got the glasses, the prescription still wasn't right. I had to find another optometrist--at a clinic in Manhattan--to fix the prescription and put in a third set of lenses. That doctor was also able to clearly diagnose and explain the corneal issues and took several different photos of my eye, without charging me anything additional.
