We went here because our 19 month old was exposed to RSV and was showing symptoms of labored breathing.
He was seen by a Nurse Practioner who claimed to have a lot of experience with RSV. He told us that he needed to go to the ER, and that while he had to recommend Cauyga as the closest hospital, he really suggested we go to Syracuse because of the likelihood our child would have to be admitted for up to a week or two stay. Why go to a different hospital when you would have to be transferred to a children's unit? He could hear the buildup in his lungs and they'd have to see if they could extract it in the ER. His oxygen levels were read at 91%, 94%, and 97%.
We're now back home the same day after freaking out for 2 hours that our son would have to spend a week in the hospital. We packed bags and made and extra pot of coffee for the long drive (and back for one of us) while our son was walking around the kitchen trying to open cabinets (the usual mischief).
When seen in the ER, his oxygen levels fluctuated betwen 91 and 98%. The PA that saw him declared within minutes that the case was mild and that she was almost certain he would not have to be hospitalized. Nothing was going to have to be extracted from his lungs. We asked what to look for to tell if we needed to come back and she basically said actual signs of severe respiratory distress. Our son received a breathing treatment and once we got home was climbing on furniture and driving his cars around the room like nothing ever happened. We were happy to have received care but this is what we expected at the Guthrie urgent care.
It's safe to say we will not be coming back here. This trip alone was enough to put one of us parents in the ER with a heart attack, for no aparrent reason other than a clueless practitioner (who also was sure to explain to us that you should always give medicine for a temp over 100.4).

Dr Conrad( the Audiologist) is exceptionally qualified and thorough/patient and certainly an excellent choice when hearing is an issue that needs to be addressed.
Need not look any further
Just go to him.

The staff at Guthrie was 100% amazing! I was visiting from New York City with soreness in the knee, making it difficult to walk. I was able to enter Guthrie, get x-rays, be seen by a physician who provided recommendations and prescribed medication, ultimately walking out within 40 minutes; possibly less! Each human I interacted with provided the maximum amount of care and concern to my needs. I highly recommend this space.
Without wanting to share all the details, I'll just say that the person I met with said I didn't have an infection, but a doctor two days later, looking at the swollen red spot, said I definitely had an infection. The person I met with also removed a band aid I had over the spot and in the process tore off a lot of skin, which has left a raw spot that's more painful than the infected spot. I probably won't return to Guthrie Walk-in unless I'm in dire straits, which I sort of was when I went this time. --- An update: the area where this person tore off my skin by poorly removing the band aid, has been very slow to hear and has made wearing shoes very difficult and painful. That move on her part has probably set me back about 3 weeks of additional healing!
