  South Shore University Hospital Sleep Center called us constantly to schedule our sleep tests, but barely communicated anything about what we’d owe after insurance. I asked them to call back while I was overseas—they never did. Our doctor told us it was covered, so we were shocked to receive bills for $2,161 each weeks later. This place clearly prioritizes pushing appointments over being honest about costs. Completely disappointed and frustrated. Do not trust them.

  My husband and I had an awful experience with South Shore University Hospital Sleep Center. They were relentless in calling us, 10+ times just to schedule our sleep tests but apparently only managed to call us once to mention anything about the out-of-pocket costs after insurance. I was out of the country in Italy when they called, and I specifically said to call back so we could properly discuss the costs. They never did. To make matters worse, our doctor told us the test was "covered," which led us to believe there would be no cost to us. Fast forward four weeks later, and we each receive a bill for $2,161.00. That’s over $4,300 combined for something we were led to believe was fully covered. This place is completely unethical in how they handle patient communication and billing. They clearly care more about getting people in the door than about being transparent or honest about what you’ll owe. This kind of shady billing practice feels like a trap. Avoid this center if you value honest communication and want to avoid unexpected, sky-high medical bills. Absolutely awful.
