  I had a deeply disappointing experience at Dr.Howard Pomeranz office located at 600 Northern Blvd, Great Neck, New Hyde Park. I brought my son, who has special needs and is autistic, for an urgent eye exam following a recent consultation with his neurosurgeon. The neurosurgeon identified an issue with my son's left eye, which appears dark and causes him discomfort post neurosurgery . Unfortunately, our visit with Dr. Howard Pomeranz lasted less than five minutes. Despite my explanations about my child's needs and the urgency of the situation, Dr. Palmer showed a noticeable lack of patience. He did not continue with the exam and asked us to leave, we were referred to pediatrics which left me feeling helpless and frustrated as I was instructed by my child’s neurosurgeon to be seen by this particular specialist. To make matters worse, I have footage showing my child trying his best to cooperate and follow the doctor's instructions, yet Dr. Palmer seemed short-tempered and impatient throughout the process. Additionally, two staff members approached us aggressively, insisting that I lower the volume of my child's assistive device. I complied and explained that the music helps keep him calm, but their annoyance only added to my discomfort. It was disheartening that my son missed a day of essential speech and behavioral therapy at school for an unsuccessful visit. I cannot recommend Dr. Pomeranz office to any parents of children with special needs. The experience was not only unproductive but also left us heartbroken and disappointed. I wish I was able to select zero stars instead of one.

  My opthamologist, Dr. Gorski, is patient and very, very thorough. My optometrist, Dr. Olivia Chu’s a great listener and knowledgeable aswell. I’m fortunate to have this duo taking care of my vision and would highly recommend.

  I had a very intense time sensitive operation due to a detached retina all of these folks were unbelievable kind caring social and took the edge off of a very heavy situation for me all I can do is say God bless you guys and thank you so much for your kindness and saving my eye

  One of the girls at the desk (black hair, wavy) is completely unprofessional. Somewhat rude and has no clue how to talk to people. Like most places, I expected a date and time to come back for my sons follow up appointment a month later. Instead, she says she’ll “call” when it’s time. A month has passed and now, I have to call because she doesn’t know how to do her job nor seems like she really cares. Terrible

  I've seen first hand and also been behind the front desk..this practice is fantastic and I get how parents are busy and impatient when it comes to there kids. Be ready, get your paperwork mailed to you prior to your appointment and know the front desk duties have changed over the years.
