No one is on the same page at the office, and it causes nothing but confusion and wasted time. I requested an IUD. I was initially told it needed to be done during my period. I scheduled the appointment during what should have been during my period, but it was running late. I called thinking I needed to reschedule, but the staff told me I could still come in and get it done without it starting. At the appointment, the doctor told me she couldn't do it without being on my period. I told her the staff told me differently. She asked the desk workers who told me that, and they said none of them did. If they had told me that when I called, I wouldn't have wasted time driving an hour there and an hour back home. Before leaving, they told me if I got my period in the next two days, I’d be able to come in and get the IUD before the doctor would be leaving for vacation. I was able to get my period in time, but when I called back, they said they wouldn't be able to see me until the following week, which would be after my period finished.
The staff also provided me with conflicting information when checking the coverage of the birth control. They told me I didn’t need prior authorization, told me I could only be approved for one type of IUD at a time, then suddenly I was approved for two types of IUDs I didn't ask for, then suddenly I was approved for all three types at the same time.
Anyways, I called Planned Parenthood and will be receiving the IUD I requested TODAY.
