Very rude staff, no compassion, and no bedside manners. I left feeling so devalued. Also the person who called me to tell me something that my insurance wouldn’t cover was sooooo rude !
I went to the orthopedic urgent care here. I saw Heather Puleo. I was in excruciating pain in the cuff of my upper left arm. Heather said that I had tendinitis after examining an X-ray. She saw that I was unable to lift my arm and was in a lot of pain. Yet, she recommended Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I told her that I took those and it didn’t help. Heather said to take it interchangeably. When I got home I did this, but it still didn’t help. Also, Heather said that she had to take a conservative way and recommended physical therapy. She said she wasn’t allowed to give me a steroid shot because she was only a PA. Then, she said that I should follow up with a sports medicine doctor within a week or two. Heather said I could see Dr. Grossman, but he books up fast. Then, she mentioned Dr. Schwartz and Dr. Neri. What I’m upset about is not being taken seriously with my pain. I expected immediate attention like a strong pain medicine and someone to give me a steroid shot to ease the pain. I didn’t want to wait for a follow up with a doctor and physical therapy!!! I think that Heather Puleo needs more training in treating patients for urgent care. I wouldn’t recommend anyone going here and to just go to a regular urgent care center . I wish that I had went to the Northwell Health Urgent Care in Amityville, which is closer to where I live. When I had severe pain in my upper leg they gave me a steroid shot and prescribed a strong medication. I would like to give more feedback if someone from NYU Langone is going to respond after reading this.

Disappointing experience . Dr. Teplitz is very obviously an expert, however the beside manner was a bit abrupt but more alarming is that an Rx (that is dangerous to patients with aspirin allergy) was given to a patient that is highly allergic to aspirin. It was confirmed twice with PA and Dr. Teplitz about aspirin allergy . The pharmacist at CVS alerted us on Tuesday this Rx shouldn't be taken if allergic to aspirin. We already have this Rx at home, and my husband DID take one dose!! I called the office after hours immediately and we were promised a return call. There was a missed call on cell phone on Tuesday evening, but no follow up since. It is now Friday and I've tried 3 times to get through and there isn't even a option to leave message with his secretary. Just want another anti-inflammatory that is safe to take.
