A close relative had an outpatient sleep study done in November. When we arrived for check in, we were given a preauth of approximately $1000, and proceeded with the sleep study appointment. Unfortunately, got a surprise bill of $3000 for the services- 2k over estimate-
Wish I could give zero stars
Definitely need to revamp this place, literally yelling and speaking to me in a rude condescending way (Jessica). Will never go back here or recommend it, and I’ve been to almost every NYU location/specialities over my 15 years of being a patient of NYU. No wonder it’s always empty and still a 40 min wait.
I paid my copay after being told that my insurance covered the cost of the AT HOME sleep study, only to receive a 3,500 bill a few weeks later.

IF I COULD GIVE THIS A ZERO STAR, I WOULD GIVE IT A ZERO IN A HEARTBEAT!!! Dr. Qanta Ahmed has very poor bedside manners which I can deal with but she is awfully rude and extremely disrespectful and condescending. She talks down to her patients which is very unprofessional for a physician that I am paying a service for. She likes to hear herself speak and you cannot ask any questions until she is good and ready…..at that point you will forget the question you previously wanted clarification on. She does not listen to her patients, she rushes the appointment, she gives you a quick summary and walks right out. You are totally caught off-guard by her rude attitude that you can’t even internalize anything she says. Her own staff, at the first meeting, stated she was very rude and condescending and that doesn’t like to answer questions. Should have listened to them but we found out first hand. I would never recommend her. Look elsewhere for a Sleep Center. Her staff on the other hand is very nice.
