Every person I encountered—from the nurses to the doctors—made me feel comfortable and confident going into my surgery. The entire process was efficient; I was in and out in under seven hours, including pre-op and recovery. Dr. Elbayar performed my hip arthroscopic surgery, and he was truly amazing. He took the time to make me feel at ease and confident in his care. I am very grateful for the exceptional treatment I received and highly recommend this facility and Dr. Elbayar.

I believe her name was Maureen, the intake nurse, she was an absolute joy. The anesthesiologist, cant remember her name, but she was as sweet as pie. The facility was extremely clean and one of the nurses went as far to offer the whole tired waiting room coffee. Our RN after surgery was so incredible and explained everything and mad it super comfortable for two very nerve wracked parents to ask our questions. I hope I will never have to visit here again as who wants to have surgery but would come back here in a heartbeat if needed.

Secure dentures, hearing aids, glasses, or contact lenses as instructed. Bring photo ID, your insurance card(s), and an up‑to‑date list of medications and allergies.
How long is the typical recovery time in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)?
If you received general anesthesia or sedation, the average recovery time is about 90 minutes. If you received only local anesthesia and remained conscious, the average recovery time is about 30 minutes. While in PACU you are frequently monitored for vital signs, pain, nausea, bleeding, and other symptoms.
Who should I contact with questions about insurance or precertification for day surgery?
If you have questions about hospital coverage for your upcoming admission or precertification, contact the Insurance Clearance Department listed by NYU Langone (the Day Surgery page provides the appropriate contact number).
Will I receive follow-up contact after my procedure?
Yes. A nurse will call you the day after your procedure to check on your recovery and answer questions; for additional concerns during recovery, contact your surgeon’s office.
