I had a very bad experience in the Emergency Department at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital. The level of professionalism and care was extremely disappointing. I was waiting for about 7 hours just to get my discharge paperwork printed, which is unacceptable in an emergency department setting. During this time, the RN Vivian appeared to be busy shopping for clothes online instead of attending to patients. This behavior felt very unprofessional and disrespectful to patients who are waiting for care. Additionally, the physician Benjamin did not seem engaged or concerned about resolving the delay. There was a clear lack of communication and urgency from the staff. Patients come to the emergency department when they need help and expect medical professionals to act responsibly and respectfully. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet even basic expectations of patient care. I hope the hospital administration reviews this issue and takes steps to improve staff professionalism and patient service in the emergency department.

--- Recognition for Nurse Linda Voigt Toussaint, RN My husband was recently rushed to the ER and later admitted. Despite the clear short‑staffing challenges, the team worked tirelessly to care for their patients. When he was transported to the 5th floor, I was exhausted, emotional, and vulnerable — and that’s when Nurse Linda Voigt Toussaint became the breath of fresh air we desperately needed. Linda made us feel comfortable from the moment she entered the room. She was attentive, patient, and compassionate, answering every question and ensuring my husband received the best possible care. Throughout the night, she monitored him closely and consistently, never once making us feel like a burden. Her professionalism, empathy, and integrity were evident in everything she did. It’s clear that caring and healing are truly her calling. After so many years in nursing, it’s inspiring to see that she has not become desensitized, but instead continues to provide outstanding, heartfelt care. She is without question an asset to this hospital. Thank you, Linda. I wish every patient could experience the level of care you provide. ---

I has visited September 05 2025 My sister recently gave birth to a baby boy, so I have a new nephew. I went to the hospital to visit them. The hospital was very beautiful, the environment inside was very clean, and the staff were very kind and behaved very nicely.

39weeks pregnant 11pounds baby on the way hihgh risk, got schedule by my doctor for a csection and when I get there they said they don’t have anything scheduled for me but I showed them the printer appointment confirmation. Anyway I got there at 12pm and it was 4 pm and they still saiying it was not their problem they will evaluate me and set up another day. At the end of the day they admitted me to the hospital cause I called the cops and 911 the nurses were laughing because I did that but was my baby in risk, the I have the csection they put me in a room with no ventilation burning hell where me and my baby don’t even fit and if I want a room with air conditioner the only option was share room with people I don’t know with a new born, new born can not share room you don’t know if the other people in that room are sick.. anyway I’m still here nurses don’t want to do their job the nurse today told me I have to go to the bathroom by myself she’s not going to help me anymore be she didn’t even help at the beginning she wants me to go to the closet search for pads and material that the hospital should provide she wants me to bring it and do it by myself cause that’s not her job. When I don’t have even 24 hours of recovery. Horrible place, lazy employees bad service. Can’t wait to go home my baby is just wearing diapers not even clothes cause the room has no ventilation and she’s getting overheated. Totally ilegal.
