The assistant manager, Carla, was extremely unprofessional, rude, and lacked the ability to take accountability for her mistakes. Was trying to purchase a pair of prescription glasses with her before 2025 ended & was told at the time that the glasses will come in with my prescription lenses- I was never told by her at the time that the prescription expired and that the order only included the frames. However, today over the phone, she lied multiple times on the phone saying otherwise, and turned the blame to the customer. She even resorted to name calling and called the customer “standoff-ish.” Really poor customer service. The optometrist there is good but would advise purchasing your vision wear at another location.

This store in Flushing inside Macy’s is smaller than most LensCrafters. As with most LenCrafters, the independent doctor is professional and Dr. Ge is no different. She showed empathy and concern towards her patients.
Unfortunately, like most LensCrafters stores, some of the associates working in the front of the store lack customer service basics and ruined the experience. The large African American female employee/possibly manager needs to work on how she interacts with customers. I came to pick up my glasses and went up to her who was behind the desk. I politely waited until she was done with what she was doing and she greeted me asking “what?”. She then looked like she was bothered and asked the name on the account. She lacks basic manners and customer service. I’ve seen her interact with other members on her own team when I got my eyes checked a few weeks back. She was barking orders and bossing everyone around. The store also comprised of an older Jewish male and a younger Latino male associate. The Jewish male was disorganized and appearance was disheveled. Only the younger Latino male seems to understand what customer service is.

Amazing experience all around, received an eye exam and bought a frame with the help of the best: Carla!!! She walked me through multiple lens options and found the best price for me while also making the experience fun for my group. Appreciate Dr. Liang Ge for taking me as a walk-in and Rudolf for assisting as well. So thankful for this great team!

Terrible experience! Booked and confirmed appointment over phone and online. I showed up early 15 min before and they said they can’t take me because it’ll take an hour and they have patients booked after. Why didn’t you book my appointment for an one hour slot? Waste of my time!!

Carla was the sweetest and accommodating person ever. It amazes me how professional and compassionate she was towards myself and other customers despite how busy this place gets. She single handedly helps her staff and customers and makes sure even when things may get a bit hectic, she keeps everyone calm and delivers the perfect pair of glasses for the customer. Thank you Carla for making my experience at LensCrafters exceptional.
Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters at Macy's
How do I know if my child needs glasses?
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
