I had a mixed experience at this location. The ophthalmologist was professional and thorough, I have no complaints about the actual eye exam. However, the staff's business practices raise serious concerns.
Despite my prescription not changing and my existing glasses being in perfect condition, I was pressured to purchase new frames. I declined, yet was still charged $79 for the exam, even though my insurance clearly provided a voucher for a free eye exam and glasses.
The staff told me the $79 would be refunded if I bought new frames, and if I didn’t, I’d be responsible for the fee. This conditional refund was never disclosed upfront, and goes against what my insurance provider confirmed: the exam should have been covered.
To make matters worse, when I followed up, the manager, who identified as Bo—refused the refund, claiming he had “cancelled” the voucher after receiving it, so I was now liable. This cancellation wasn’t authorized by me or my insurer, and was never communicated transparently.
In short: excellent eye care from the doctor, but I cannot trust the billing and sales practices here. Patients deserve honesty, not games with insurance benefits.
