While the basic service here is okay, the biggest issue is that all of the doctors are residents, which does not inspire much confidence when you need serious dental work. My root canal took nearly three months to complete because every step had to be done piece by piece and approved by a supervisor. The only part of my experience that was decent was the cleanings.
Unfortunately, after my last cleaning, the crown from that root canal came off, and that is where this office completely failed.
I now have an exposed tooth underneath the missing crown, and I am worried it is getting worse by the day. I called to schedule an appointment, and they refused to give me one because they said this was a “new issue” that had not yet been verified by one of their residents. Then I asked about emergency walk-in appointments, and they told me those are basically only for people who are in pain.
So let me get this straight: I have a crown that fell off, an exposed tooth, and a real dental problem that needs treatment, but unless I am in enough pain, they will not actually help? What exactly is the point of an emergency dental appointment if not to treat an actual dental emergency?
After going in circles, I finally asked if it would be better for me to see a dentist outside of their network, and the person on the phone literally said yes. That tells you everything you need to know. If even their own staff is effectively telling patients to go somewhere else, you should listen.
On top of that, it is almost impossible to make a real appointment here. I was actually told to call every single day and hope something opens up. That is beyond ridiculous. Patients should not have to chase a dental office like it is some kind of lottery just to get care.
This is by far one of the worst dental office experiences I have ever had. The scheduling is a mess, urgent problems are not handled properly, and the whole system feels disorganized and indifferent to patient care. I would strongly recommend going literally anywhere else.

Not punctual. If you have an appointment at a select time just know you're gonna wait WAY past that time to get seen by the doctor/dentist/etc... I have been coming here since i was little kid, the wait times were always insanely long, you would think with the new technology to make customers check in themselves would make the process a bit faster but nope, it jist takes make your visit a headache especially when you have to sign the same form multiple times every visit.

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Doctor and nurses are also very approachable and explaining things well.
I get it the wait time is kind of long but I can understand. They don’t have too many ppl there.
Well at least when it’s my turn I like the experience. :)

Didn't tell me I needed to come in for a medication, let me run out, and then refused to do an emergency refill. Can only get through to actually talk to a person about 30% of the time, I've been calling all day trying to reach them, and I finally get through and they tell me all the doctors have gone home at 3:30pm on a Friday, so no one could help. Then they just hung up on me.

the wait here is always so miserable. i’m now an hour past my appointment so im just gonna keep writing this review until i get bored or until i finally get seen. seconding another one star review, why can they not do a cleaning at the same time as the intake xrays? it seems ridiculously impractical an un-economic to separate these two visits. if they’re gonna make ppl wait so long maybe they’re booking too many appointments or they’re understaffed? it’s a shame that all of the clients/customers here are the ones dealing with the sins of nyu running a bad business. i’d rather them just give me a different date to come in than ostensibly have an appointment that’s not gonna happen. and now that i’ve been waiting over an hour i kinda wanna just leave and reschedule but im pot committed and leaving now will make all of this wait have been in vain. dear nyu what did i do to deserve this terrible treatment? being in the purgatory of your waiting room is draining my humanity!
